Please dont start the name calling stunts or divert this discussion to OTC or chinese apache.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:hmmm you are Chinese helicopter one issn't it? NOt that there is anything wrong with that but LKY said OTC cannot be PM because he is Chinese helicopter.
Which civil servant takes so much and their salary not decided by themselves.
hahaha I hit a raw nerve with my guess?Originally posted by Gazelle:Please dont start the name calling stunts or divert this discussion to OTC or chinese apache.
Which civil servant can contribute to Singapore as much as LKY?
nah...I have never taken big talkers like you seriously, not to mention your weak and pathatic argument in trying to make us believe that LKY is stealing public money.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:Why don't we just let the civil servants decide on their own pay and let them decide how much they contribute to the welfare of the nation? What did LKY do exactly after he step down as PM? He is the current PM's father. It is his fatherly duty to hold his son's hand and not expect the nation to pay him, 3.3 million to do his fatherly duty...
hahaha I hit a raw nerve with my guess?Don't be so emotional leh... not good for your health...

Anywhere in the world, making one's son the PM is called cronyism except in your warped mind... why should he run to the Bahamas when he can continue taking with supporters like you worshiping him because you fear him like some hostage victims fear the hostage takers and begin to worship them?Originally posted by Gazelle:nah...I have never taken big talkers like you seriously, not to mention your weak and pathatic argument in trying to make us believe that LKY is stealing public money.
If he is like what you said, then I am sure he is doing a damn bloody lousy job because he should have paid himself $100m a years and retire with his families in the Bahamas instead of wasting his precious time building this country and making his son a PM.

Like Hong Kong and KL (British colonies like Singapore at the same time...) is not here today?Originally posted by KydoN:If not for him, you wont be here today

Exactly. Puzzling. I don't think that "stupidity" can explain it. What do you think of the Stockholm Syndrome to explain it?Originally posted by Poh Ah Pak:I am also rather surprised by this mentality.
Could be due to constant bombardment by pro-PAP propaganda in the Singapore mainstream propaganda media.
This guy can't make the difference between a different opinion, an opposing proposition, an allegation, or an accusation. This is not just boring but stupid. Responding to him is a waste of time.Originally posted by Gazelle:So I guess all civil servants can also be accused of taking public money for himself and family isnt it?
just another boring thread for whiners to glorify their existent in this forum.
but entertaining... and he is useful for some fun....Originally posted by sgdiehard:This guy can't make the difference between a different opinion, an opposing proposition, an allegation, or an accusation. This is not just boring but stupid. Responding to him is a waste of time.

I'd agree. If the majority indeed got to vote. How many people out of the eligible people got to vote as a result of the walkovers?Originally posted by kramnave:No point arguing here, its the votes of the majority that matters, not words. Trying to make news from old news is basically stirring shit.
That will be the biggest mistake you ever made because politicians are nothing if there are no people's support and no matter how strong you are you cant never beat the people's power.Originally posted by maven2:Viva La Meritocracy!
Personally, if I had an entire country in my pocket, I'd stay and not run away to Bahamas which isn't in my pocket. It may just be my preference la.
Gazelle. I totally agree with you. You cannot beat people's power. But you can put laws in place to prevent people from being able to have power for a long long time.Originally posted by Gazelle:That will be the biggest mistake you ever made because politicians are nothing if there are no people's support and no matter how strong you are you cant never beat the people's power.
Will LKY be so stupid to make his son a PM if he himself is guilty of corruption? Paper cant wrap around fire remember?
Do you know who I was referring to?Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:but entertaining... and he is useful for some fun....![]()
If uprading carrot has already been proven a failure, why dont PAP stop it? thats because it has succeeded in many other constituencies. If PAP wants to hold high moral ground, it should shed the hypocrisy that upgrading carrots dont work. If they dont work, stop using it. Action speaks louder than words.Originally posted by Gazelle:I personally dont think this sort of tactic can be effective in winning votes from internet savy and educated singaporeans, and upgrading carrot has already been proven a failure in our last election.
Can you remember PM Lee's son saying that PAP rallies are boring, thats why he choose to attend the opposition rally.![]()
I would prefer to judge PM Lee based on this contribution to Singapore in the next 5 - 10 years and not because his father is LKY.Originally posted by Spartans:LKY is an important figure in the history of Singapore. No one can deny that.
However, passing his 'throne' to his son made Singapore seemed lmore ike an dynasty than a democratic nation.
Whether LKY is corrupted or not we cannot confirm for sure. But I do reckon the recent pay hike for the PM and ministers as 'openly and legally corruption'.
They can increase when and how much they like. Isnt this legal corruption. Remember in Singapore, the ones with the utmost power is PAP, not the Laws. They can change the laws to suit their aims.
