Singaporeans stage anti-Odex protest
A group of Singaporeans staged a protest against the Japanese animation distributor Odex's demand for Internet Service Providers to disclose the identities of the "illegal downloaders".
Eight young men and women set up a "People's Action Figures Party" at a corner at the Youth Park near Exeter Road last Saturday, 25 Aug 07.
The protest consist of a display of toy action figures lined up carrying anti-Odex props & placards in a mock demonstration.
As the protesters and their figurines arrived at the park, they were met by four riot police buses. The police took down their identities and video-recorded the group's activity.

Is that true!? That must be so wonderful.
Did they got arrested?
If not, is it because ODEX is not politics?
If so, can I say public protest is ok if not political?

If you surfed hwz forums , there is quite a number of them who has ordered anti-odex t-shirts in protest ...

The authorities are indeed watching. Usually, I don't even see them around. Or maybe I'm just blind to my surroundings.

Want your freedom, start a civil protest culture on more civil topics like anti-whaling or anti-odex. Bravo. 1st round winner - the people !!!
The police will just watch and there is nothing they can do because it will invite extremely negative publicity and meaningless backlash for them to arrest such civil protesters who incidentally will be our pro-freedom and pro-country and pro-people freedom marchers going forward. -
Hahaha yeah who knows they may have a whole lot of pirated stuff in their home hidden away from view . Why don't they let the police do a sudden raid at their houses to prove their innocent first . Oh yah anyone here from the income tax dept ? Since Odex has fines and extort so much money from teenagers and etc they must be earning fat profits . Care to check them out ? Perhaps their income tax may be able to give the govt sector another fat bonus .
