His goal is not to win. His goal is to expose the disgraceful acts of the dictators to the rest of the world community so that they can never hold their heads high in the world. The world will consider them as cheats and barbarians, as a result of Dr Chee's effort, on par with those people that put Aung San under house arrests. Imagine the dictator's children meeting other people of the world and Dr Chee's children meeting the same people. What will they say?
To one group they will say: "hmmm they won elections by less than honorable means, and take lots of public money which you are spending now, right?"
To the other group they will say: "He stood up to the dictators and suffered for it right?"
I certainly prefer to be Dr Chee's children. Money is not everything in life. -

No, but he is getting on the wrong side of the law even though he knows it. Then he believes he is in the same league as Aung, Gandhi, Mandela etc. He is not...he is fighting for himself, not for the people as he does not know what the population wants. I'm not his wife, and thus I do not assume that the wife prefers or should leave him. If the wife so chooses to stay, its her choice.
If the Chee couple chose collectively to raise their kids with their own hands, as opposed to a fatherless environment, its their prerogative.
I think abandoning his kids elsewhere is more irresponsible but then again to each his own opinion, I am in no position to judge another's method of raising kids. Unless they are starving or abused, and denied basic education, and not given love by parents, should be alright.
When the kids are old enough to decide, and so decide to leave their parents, again its their choice.
