want to migrate to other countries, they sold their flat n bought big houses in US or Canada. The local also started to learn like HK, buy HDB n later sold it when they planned to migrate to other developed countries. Anyway US is a nice place to live in, 50 states to choose from n to our liking. -

As for me, I don't really care. I got sponsorship from a state government in Australia to do further study and I competed fairly against all applicants. It is all about opportunity and skills. If it was about skin color , it would automatically go to a caucasian , not me.

Oh they tax - but at least I get free hospital , a pension if I need one and welfare if I need it . Not to mention , education is so much cheaper. In Singapore, we not so lucky lah...we pay very little income tax, our mortgage interest rate are low, very accessible hospital and polyclinic islandwide, good public transport infrastructure, no issues with guns, shops are always open, we are able to eat hawker good instead of having to eat that boring sandwiches, our children and families wont have to live with racist remarks and most of all, we are able to sing national anthem without being labelled as a fool.

Not only U.S, Singapore needs everybody. We don't the likes of say BHP Billiton to fund our economy. We need to attract MNCs, tourists, in short FDI. We import what we eat. All these are a reality we have to keep in mind and think about.

The Asia economy is still very dependend on USA economy, the largest economy in the world. I think (dont quote me) 25% of total China export goes to US, and 15% of Singapore total export to China also end up in US and US is also one of Singapore key trading partners especially for Semicon industry.
The importance of US economy to Singapore economy? Of course it is important, because they have been and still is one of the key driver of Asia economy growth, spreading from Japan to Middle East. -

Common sense. There is no natural resources in Singapore. I didn't say that they are justifying their salary. As far as I know, they do not need to justify - they just pay themselves . I am only saying it is a means to sustain their salary. Big Difference.

Who say all of us have parents who gave us money to buy overseas apartments? My money was invested by my parents - still my money hor when it went into the apartment. Worked since 15...I am not so spoilt as some kids who just stretch out the hands and ask for pocket money.

That is the trouble when people decide after a 2 week holiday without giving due consideration.
I stayed in Australia overseas for my degree after poly. Decided to go back to Singapore because evidently I thought it was home ,although my university offered me a scholarship to continue my studies. Returned to Australia eventually after I got permanent residency - have not regretted since. I only regret listening to and actually believing in Singaporean propanganda about being a second class citizen in another country for that period of my life when I return to Singapore. -
