You mean gays in Singapore are criminals and should not be let out on the street?Originally posted by Gazelle:you have just proven him right. You are living in angmoh country and you view them as a tax payer and normal human being.![]()
This is why he does not want to pass the legislation taken from www.news.com.au :Originally posted by Daddy!!:exactly. depends on some other personal factors which one will not know till one tries it out there. for instance, if one has a look that is somehow turns the whites off, one should just stay out! and vice versa. ha ha!
Oh yes, Gays should avoid singapore and go to australia which is certainly more welcoming. i know a few gays. they are nice people but to live with them can be a challenge.
read below.
Singapore retains its gay sex ban
PM Lee said he wanted Singapore to remain conservative
Singapore's parliament has voted against a proposal to decriminalise sex between men, despite receiving a petition signed by thousands of people.
The plan was part of a wider reform of sex laws, many dating from the British colonial era half a century ago.
The chamber passed a bill legalising oral and anal sex for the first time, but only between heterosexuals.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the government did not consider gays to be a minority with minority rights.
In a rare speech to parliament, he said Singapore was a conservative society, and he wanted to keep it so.
Tuesday's vote means Singapore's anti-gay law 377A remains, although prosecutions are rare.
Under the legislation, a man caught committing an act of "gross indecency" with another man could be jailed for up to two years.
Abolishing the law could “send the wrong signal” and push gay activists to ask for more concessions, such as same-sex marriage and parenting, Mr Lee said. The legislation cannot be carried out if it happens in a private bedroom. Don't tell me that the police will randomly knock on the door and check if two men are having sex. Just like carnal intercourse which they recently legalised . That would be hilarious. The law is for show only.
Gays “are free to lead their lives and pursue their social activities,” the Prime Minister said, citing the existence of gay websites and gay bars.
“But there are restraints, and we do not approve of them setting the tone of mainstream society,” he said.
“They live their lives, that's their personal space. But the tone of the overall society, I think, it remains conventional, it remains straight and we want it to remain so.”
nah...our society here dont rule by skin color. we are guided by religion and cultureOriginally posted by fymk:You mean gays in Singapore are criminals and should not be let out on the street?
How would they affect you at all other than making you uncomfortable that people of the same sex are kissing each other? What exactly are they doing that is so heinous that they should be prosecuted criminally for it?
Those gays who work in Singapore (I am sure that there are some)- you mean they don't pay taxes at all just like you do?
Then you are no better than the average racist redneck in Australia then.
Yup , you are just about as educated as the average racist redneck then.Originally posted by Gazelle:nah...our society here dont rule by skin color. we are guided by religion and culture
Crime rate in Australia is not much better either..but the pro-white people will always blame to aborigine for all the criime as if they are the inventors and manfacturer of guns etc.Originally posted by Daddy!!:remember the shootings in us university? this is what happens when u have freedom without rules. primary education.
That is USA. Come on - every country has its pro and cons. Do you seriously think Singapore is the best? How about the Huang Na case? You mean crimes don't even happen in Singapore?Originally posted by Daddy!!:remember the shootings in us university? this is what happens when u have freedom without rules. primary education.
Of course Gazelle..wow original idea....NOT. Actually you are being quite the racist for stating that without substantiation. Pot calling kettle black.Originally posted by Gazelle:Crime rate in Australia is not much better either..but the pro-white people will always blame to aborigine for all the criime as if they are the inventors and manfacturer of guns etc.
likewise gay freedom should have its rules before things get out of hand. i think u missed my implication.Originally posted by fymk:That is USA. Come on - every country has its pro and cons. Not every country is perfect . Give me a better example.
No you missed my point. What implication? Weird family structure not to your liking? As I distinctly recall you said if your son is gay , you might as well migrate to Australia. I consider that quite a discriminatory and callous comment.Originally posted by Daddy!!:likewise gay freedom should have its rules before things get out of hand. i think u missed my implication.
Will4, here is another article about US$.Originally posted by will4:Local should take this opportunity to buy houses in US especially for those planning to migrate there.

When we talk about RATE, we are not affected by the size of the population, because it is ratiosOriginally posted by fymk:Of course Gazelle..wow original idea....NOT. Actually you are being quite the racist for stating that without substantiation. Pot calling kettle black.
Remember Australia has 20 million people which is about 5 times bigger than Singapore and with a landmass several times bigger than Singapore . Of course crime rates will be higher than Singapore. It is a freaking continent. Singapore is small - easier to track people - hard to hide . You are comparing one gigantic jackfruit to a small plum. Try harder.
Obviously you didn't get what I said. You don't need to lecture me on rates - I know what they are - maybe better than you.Originally posted by Gazelle:When we talk about RATE, we are not affected by the size of the population, because it is ratios
From what I have gathered, Australia is ranked world no.3 for rapes (just behind South Africa and Seychelles), world No.1 for car theft and burglaries.
Yes, America is also a freaking continent and the population is more than 10 times the size of australia. So?
fymk, are you making up your own theory about crime?Originally posted by fymk:Obviously you didn't get what I said. You don't need to lecture me on rates - I know what they are - maybe better than you.
Like I said earlier, Australia is a continent island. Australia makes a great hideout for some criminals because of its vastness. Geographical factor does impact on crime rates. Larger the population - of course crimes will happen more because of the opportunity and the land mass ( more hiding places). It is a random event ,not a set event where you can use a set scale. Crime also happens on other factors. Just because Singapore has low crime rate doesn't mean that if you implant the Singaporean government in Australia - Australia will have a low crime rate as well.
So differing factors but does that mean that Australia is worse than Singapore ? No. In Singapore , there is always a crowd somewhere because it is a tiny country . It is mainly urban - streets are well lighted everywhere , easier for police to patrol , unlike Australia where there can be 20km square of the area of wilderness and one small town with maybe 4-5 police men. Some rural areas - the next neighbour can be 5 km down the street even for farmers.
Low crime also doesn't mean no crime. Crime happens on opportunity.
America is divided into north and south. If you are referring to USA ...you must have flunk geography in terms of continents and size .
is in the culture.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Racism is so prevalent in Singapore that many do not actually realise it.
Why should I? Those are just facts.Originally posted by Gazelle:fymk, are you making up your own theory about crime?![]()
As we all know majority of the land in Australia are desert which are not inhabited by human being, so your theory of Australia being a big country, is also not accurate. And furthermore, do you really think that criminal do hide in desert?Originally posted by fymk:Why should I? Those are just facts.
North America and South America are both continent.Originally posted by udontknowme:walao...who said america is a continent huh???
WHO ARHHH???????=(
If you actually look at the geography of Australia - towns and cities are around the coast. The middle is a huge vast mass of nothingness. So your high density theory is smack there. Then again ....you have indigenous and non-indigenous people living in the vast mass of nothingness.Originally posted by Gazelle:As we all know majority of the land in Australia are desert which are not inhabited by human being, so your theory of Australia being a big country, is also not accurate. Furthermore, having a big country doesnt mean that will result to higher crime, infact, if people are scattered across the country, it will be more difficult to commit crime isn't it?
Contrary to what you said, most crime happens in area with higher population density, (please do check on statistic report) that is because crimes are usually related to drugs, gangs, prostitution racism etc.
As we all know australia are known for their liberal approach towards drugs and I am surprise that you didnt even mentioned this as one of the reason for the high crime rate in Australia?
Somehow you just remind edme of the 90.5 radio TV commercial about the tennis coach speaking to his student's father.
