I remember when LKY was choosing his successor, he originally wanted Tony Tan. The othe candidates then were Goh Chok Tong, S Dhanabalan and Ong Teng Cheong.
LKY said then that Sg was not ready for an indian PM, whatever that meant. WOnder if his opinion has changed. -

if the choice is from the current batch, then it will be teo....ng eng hen is too aloof...vivian is holding softcore ministerial positions...tharman doesn't look like the type who can command authority amongst the current lot...some say george but this guy was 5% away from getting the sack the last time...dpm wong would be a step back...mah is unpopular...jaya is semi retired...and the list goes on......
second tier minister grace fu looks solid and articulate...got that powerful woman persona....then again is sg ready for a hillary...
whatever it is, the newer batch of pap politicians are not widely known and respected as all of them are either thru the backdoor or rode on the coattails of the established pappies...doesn't bode too well for the future....as tay kheng soon mentioned, sg folks are intelligent but they act blur and soon enough they will be too blur for anything else..... -

Ten years down the road, how old is the new DPM assuming they are from the likes of Lim Hng Kiang,etc If hah, new PM step up in ten years times then they almost 60s by then.

It should never be a family business in the first place. If voting is counted, they should actually allow all to vote and not certain area...
