As long as you have a good bunch of people running the show, there is not much to fear if one or two of them fail. You can replace them.
For example, PAP had their bad nuts. Teh Cheng Wan, a minister that committed suicide is a good example.
What is important is for the leaders to be honest, open, meritocratic and unbiased.
The present regime is filled with cronies, opaque, and refuses to be accountable.
Yet their performance is not as bad as what you would expect given their treachery.
The reason is simple, not everyone is a bad nut in the government.
What this suggest is that the opposition can take over any time as long as they uphold the rule of democracy, openness, honesty and meritocracy.

A world leader company , say IBN or Microshof or GD or P&E (example hypothetical companys) can still be the best company if they rename to other names. Another example is a basketball champion called dream team players can all join a new basketball team called donkey and still be the best team in the world. Brand and name is nothing. Capable talents can join any new or donkey team and emerge the best team. Its which talents want to form a new team.
Brand is known to have value. But if all the talents leave, what happens to the brand? The brand can continue to attract new talents but the performing team has gone to join another newly created team. -

What might be a better example are family owned companies.

The worst performing businesses (comparing all businesses, family and non-family owned) are those family owned businesses that are family owned and family members run themselves.
That is because of cronyism and nepotism. Singapore is not a family owned business and yet we can find cronyism and nepotism.
So in the same way, as long as the political parties in power, whether or not they are in opposition now, can take over the running of the country because all they need to do is employ the right professionals to do the job. -

What do we know about family business? When the founder started the business, family members and relatives are roped in to help. The business prospers. Then it grew until envy set in. Then accusation of unfairness, inequalities, etc. amongst family members set in. The next generation take over, greed and self-interest prevail, and quarrels and differences surfaced. The business breaks up, sold or declined. This is textbook case-study. If there was a strong patriarch and nepotism exists, the business will never to be broken up - because that is the very nature of patriarchy and nepotism!

I do believe opposition can take over anytime, so that we can compare who rule better. Plus competition led to brain storm. Most of our MP have slacken down alot. It oso test Singaporean adaptability and Flexibility to different rule. If it led to chao, I think Singapore is a total failure. But if we can adjust well, it mean we can take on bigger challenge. Opposition can check on govt & govt can check on opposition. A balance between Yin & Yang. 2 opp VS 80++MP is too big difference. Do we have to wait until all our hard earned money being cheated by greedy MP before we make noise? How sure r we that our MP r not corrupted? bcose there r no one to check on them.

Again, it is so simple bcos there r available opposition parties, just cast ur vote to them, confirmed u see no blood & protest. But whether they can rule wisely, it is reali up to them to prove.
