A real case of one of my friend...

Sorry i had to cut short because just now when i tried to submit the long article, this stupid forums asked for my login which i did just now.Knn make me had to make a short one now.
This case happen like this...,a fren of mine was not very highly educated but was hardworking.He got one mother who was in the old folks home and need to pay to the old folks home 3 hundreds plus amonth.
His monthly pay is only 8 hundred plus.So, with that kind of low salary, he had to pay his house, his daily food and expenses.
Now, the problem is, his company located in AMK industrial park, don't want to extend their contract once their contract ended.Reason is because those workers from China employed by their company can do two jobs, like operating the machines and repairing the machines if it's down.Not only that, their take home pay is only 6 hundred and below only.
Now he complain to me what our government had done to help them out?
And then, even with the old folks home subsidie, he still need to folk out afew hundreds dollars to pay them.
I quite pity him, as no one is born equal in life, be it education and families support.Well, too bad i told him, we got a government who is only concern of making their salary fatter year by year but forgotton about the old age folks and those needy people.
I tell him straight, you serve the N.S, help to defend the country, help to contribute to the CPF fund so that all the government ministers can get to enjoy their fat fat salary yearly and in the end the government will just tell us this:
"Don't always depend on the government to help you."
Now, after listening to what my fren had told me about his problem... i got something here to tell the government and those PAP dogs... be it ISD and the police.....
Listen up now:
"DON'T DEPEND ON US IF WAR BREAK UP TOO!!!"

Ask your friend to upgrade his skills. I believe our govt have some schemes on this

GST, bus, smrt, utility,
go less developed country like malaysia or thailand to stay la..

Cost of living increases in Singapore every few years, inflation in food prices, housing, education, transport etc.
If you are poor man in Singapore, life is super hard.

It is not about upgrade yourself, it is about employed foreigners is much cheaper than local. $800 vs $600, which will u choose? Boss give $600 salary and the extra $200 or less for the foreigners to upgrade themselves. 1 stone 2 birds.

Hmm...encourage companies to hire displaced midde-aged locals but at the same time allow the them to hire foreigners?!
Govt's bottomline is make money, so are businesses.
The govt is dragging it's feet to 'resolve' unemployment, the jobless are being discriminated by employers.....a double whammy indeed. -

If that is so, then why must we help the government by giving them full control of our CPF?Why must we help the government by serving the 2 Years N.S but getting only a few hundreds dollars.What if my family is poor and i need to work to support my family?
And lastly, i help the government to protect Singapore in my 2 Years army, did the government help me when i need their help?Or simply just say
'Don't always ask the government for help'!!! -
To each his own but i always thought the idea of national service as being " helping the government to protect Singapore" as quite warped.

i dont think there is such a thing as life is ez for a poor man anywhere in this world. however, our govt is certainly in a much better position to help than most other govts. perhaps ur friend needs to be more resourceful, surely there are govt agencies out there who can help ppl like ur friend. his life may not get any easier, but surely he can still get by with the help of these agencies.

Common case as long as gahmen allow more and more cheap labour from oversea to come work in SG as it will take up most of the available work as employers will want more cheap labour...
The gahmen never think of the low income family... -
how old is your fren ? fit or not ? can understand and write basic english ? any criminal record ? if work as security guard can earn abt $1200+ a mth with OT... at least better than current job.

Looking at it from another perspective, isn't the electorate which votes for the fascists in such show elections effectively abetting in the commission of illegitimate activities by a group of organised criminals? -
This is a part of globalisation. No one can run away from it.
The problem with upgrading is that seldom employer will tolerate it especially if u work in a factory. If they want u to do OT n u refuse they can easily replace u. This apply to many blue collar job.
Like what my father always say solve the most pressing problem first. U either upgrade yrself or work to feed yrself. Certainly ppl will choose the later and try to solve the pressing issue when the time comes. -
To think they are happy at the averages... an average salary of around 4k in sg

that's this food stall at lot 1 (cck) selling korean hot plate dishes....used to have a bunch of local ladies manning the stall, now you have all china ladies doing the work....surely this is not the consequent of globalisation we want....what is there to upgrade when one cannot even hold down a job like that..
