That exists because these parties have a realistic chance of forming a government (at least, a coalition one helmed by them) and have, by and large, had their time as government.Originally posted by kramnave:Labor party in Australia. They plan to increase Superannuation contributions if they are elected. They deem the current rate to be insufficient for Aussie retirement savings. Full details go internet and search. You can monitor the American elections also. They don't go around doing nothing but taking a loudhailer and ask you where is the money.
Yes, it is about the economy but at the expense of the people. Does such govt deserve our vote?Originally posted by rojak12:Who hired the economic expert?
Why hire the economic expert?
Because......
It's the economy, stupid.
China Chinese are paid pension, the heartless PAP don't. There was once a China Chinese cleaner talked to me and told me she is paid pension by the China govt, what she is earning here in Singapore is just extra cash.Originally posted by walesa:At least, China has better labour rights than this regime - for a start, they have a variable minimum wage policy that commensurates with the living standards of their respective regions.
you do have your CPFOriginally posted by qlqq9:China Chinese are paid pension, the heartless PAP don't. There was once a China Chinese cleaner talked to me and told me she is paid pension by the China govt, what she is earning here in Singapore is just extra cash.
CPF and pension are different.Originally posted by kramnave:you do have your CPF
Then wait for the opposition in have a realistic chance of forming a government. I do hope they do that too.Originally posted by walesa:That exists because these parties have a realistic chance of forming a government (at least, a coalition one helmed by them) and have, by and large, had their time as government.
You could go on making a case for the Tories in the UK and the Republicans in the US - these are not peripheral props of a fascist dictatorship masked under the smokescreen of a democracy. They have, over time, been elected to form governments. That said, by the law of averages in any true democracy, no party is going to run the government for an eternity - unlike those of their despotic counterparts...
They are different but they serve the same purpose.Originally posted by qlqq9:CPF and pension are different.
No.Originally posted by kramnave:They are different but they serve the same purpose.
pffft...yesOriginally posted by qlqq9:No.
You could pretty much wait for an eternity - good luck if you genuinely believe the present status quo would permit even the remotest realisation of your much vaunted day...Originally posted by kramnave:Then wait for the opposition in have a realistic chance of forming a government. Well, you've just addressed that - much as China's human rights and press freedom leaves an awful lot to be desired, their social welfare and labour rights are streets ahead of this regime...Originally posted by qlqq9:China Chinese are paid pension, the heartless PAP don't. Too bad its another pension in crisis.Originally posted by walesa:Well, you've just addressed that - much as China's human rights and press freedom leaves an awful lot to be desired, their social welfare and labour rights are streets ahead of this regime...
Between China and this regime, it's not hard to see which regime actually takes better care of the basic "bread and butter" issues.
At least, there's a form of basic social safety net in place - in theory, at least. That is, at least, a right accorded to them, even if corruption and other malpractices hinder the efficienct application of the system.Originally posted by kramnave:Too bad its another pension in crisis.
There is no money for me and i die of hunger or have to beg in the streets but that is ok because in theory, the government has thought of me ?Originally posted by walesa:At least, there's a form of basic social safety net in place - in theory, at least. I absolutely agree with you. When I heard what the cleaner said, in fact I couldn't believe my ears and requested her to repeat. Strange, why that hopeless Lim Boon Heng did not visit China to find out how they take care of the old (since LKY so pro China) instead he visited Japan. As usual, they simply go for whatever that benefit them and not the people of Singapore.Originally posted by walesa:Well, you've just addressed that - much as China's human rights and press freedom leaves an awful lot to be desired, their social welfare and labour rights are streets ahead of this regime...

We don't need you to give any comments to our posts here. The very fact I have brought up a good example of what other country like China is taking good care of the nation, you are pissed off, because this reflects very bad on your PAP. As such, you just bothered to post a stupid brainless remark.Originally posted by Gazelle:what you believe doesnt seems to carry any weight in this forum.![]()
At a time where pension funds around the world are facing huge problems looking into the future, why would the government want to get into a trap which is difficult to emerge from ? Of course i would love a pension, who doesn't ?Originally posted by qlqq9:We don't need you to give any comments to our posts here. You think people accept what you post here, you think your words carry weight? Nobody thinks well of you and with all those response from people to you we know you are not welcome and you have made yourself very brainless and hopeless and your words don't carry weight.
You think by saying the above you will stop me from posting, I will not. I rather talk to walsea, soul rage, eagle, Lazerlordz and others than you, for your words don't carry weight and you are full of nuisance.
You do realise that, all pension funds are practically the same, albeit called differently?Originally posted by kramnave:At a time where pension funds around the world are facing huge problems looking into the future, why would the government want to get into a trap which is difficult to emerge from ? You do realise that every pension fund is funded by the citizens ? only that we fund it personally for ourselves rather than for our neighbour ?Originally posted by Fingolfin_Noldor:You do realise that, all pension funds are practically the same, albeit called differently?
The only difference in this case, is that you must fund your own pension fund. Which is the problem with our system.
