It's over exaggerating, come on... fan cannot break down?? restaurant so what? everything must be in working conditions? Like anyone's home appliances doesn't break down @ all?? It's a restaurant and bar, not just restaurant; what's with the kitchen got 2 open till 1am?? Need not sleep is it?? Which idiotic moron will open it's kitchen till 1am when it's a restaurant & bar?? If so, might as well call it a restaurant instead. Grief~ Btw the topic is about Unbearable command of English, not about the restaurant. Greatly appreciate is u can keep to the topic. Thks for your kind comprehensions.Originally posted by ^tamago^:Heng ah. Almost went there some weeks ago.
Oh... I'm sorry... I must be "blind" or my command of english isn't that up to standard. Hmmm... Btw I didn't know a junior member is also an adminstrator of this forum though... Pardon me... Please kindly move this thread to the mentioned thread then. Noted with thanks!Originally posted by qlqq9:This thread in the wrong forum, should be in Chit Chat.

Hahaha... It's not about a restaurant, @ least not so much of it.. It just unbearable when people just simply love to complain and complain. Not knowing what actually went on yet the way they complain is so unreadable... Anyways, it's a Friday; normally any restaurant will be full house. She didn't mention that she had a reservation of any sort. Just walked in like that and expected to have a table ready for 6pax??? It's kinda ridiculous and ironical when she mentioned that the restaurant seems to be a fine dining restaurant. Pardon my ignorance but just my 2cents worth, as far as I know, any restaurant will need a reservation for diners whether they're 2 or more; especially during weekends. And she also mentioned she is in service line for more than 5yrs. It really makes me ponder what kinda service industry she is in. Everywhere we go, it's first come, first served. Isn't it?Originally posted by venny:bro, relax la......

admins, only a few, they are the founders.

anyway, this thread related to food wat, jus telling us about a restaurant, nothing wrong with being here, no real need to be moved actually....
and that qlqq9 is nt an admin or moderator either....
Point noted and will take note on that. Thank you you ar teacher! GO teach in primary school then! Yawn~Originally posted by allentyb:TS, your command in english isn't, as good as, what that complainant has written...... so before, questioning about other people proficiency in english... take a good look, at what you have typed out so far in your own post.
your construction of sentence reminds me of my primary school homework
Pardon me for my misinterruption, should there be any. Who are you talking about on not making sense at all in his post?Originally posted by allentyb:TS
my 2 cents worth of thought, that complainant doesn't make any sense at all, in his post, in my humble opinion, if that restaurant is packed with people, it would either means that, it is still a relatively new restaurant, or it has an established reputation............
So it is his sister unfortunate LUCK that, that dinner event has to be turn out to be a bad day for her and her friends, and to put it, simply, it is in the blood of all singaporean that we complain all the time, about everything.
Nevertheless, the complainant's mentality, is what usually known as, customer is king.........
there is this newspaper article that has been published in the new paper, it is about, customer service. I am not sure whether have you read about it, but what i read in your post, and i am, now mentioning this to you, TS, you are being critical about that complainant command in english, and you fail to see that you have short form in your sentence, and some of your sentence, doesn't make any sense to me at all, so next time, if you ever want to laugh or mock or point your fingers at others, do note that, three fingers will be pointing back at you at the same time.
this is what i call - self reflection.

Why be such a pain in the ...?? It isn't about how much $$ being spent but the basic etiquette that a diner should have. Just simply feel that just by spending sme $$$, can criticise till the cows come home??? Simply cannot stand people as such...

I clearly understand your point. Judge not or be judged. You can use three or more fingers or even toes to point at me. I am perfectly fine with that. Likewise, there maybe more pointing at you as we speak. There is ALWAYS a higher mountain out there. It doesn't bother me that bit. Though I used short forms and some of my sentences do not make any sense to you but the least they are from the humble 70s' standard.(Not making excuses but the standard wasn't that high as currently) It is a laughing stock and great mockery to see those from the later generations writting such post with such bad command of english, yet can be posted in two forums?! Self-reflection or self-denial of our actions and speech?
PS: I would appreciate if you have the least courtesy to find out my humble name rather than addressing me as TS. Thank you.
OK Karen, at least this passage is a couple notches up in terms of the quality of writing.Originally posted by cokeCan:My name is Karen and am in F&B service industry for 14 years now. It's really upsetting and disappointing that our service industry is getting from bad to worse. No one really believe in service anymore or as a matter of fact, no one provides good service anymore. But have we actually ask ourselves why so? Is it the mentality of Customer is king affected us?
I did not receive the level of education most people did; especially nowadays. Even back in my studying days, I had to stop at Secondary 3 due to the expenses incurred to my mom but I have been reading whenever I can, so as to improve myself. Maybe that is why when I come across such comments and moreover it's about F&B, it just upsets me. The years of effort and hardwork that had been thrown into training the waiters/waitresses on service, just got dampened whenever some arrogant/unreasonable customer marched in. It is saddening.
I have more than three fingers pointing at me now but I'm fine. The least, I always know that there are definitely people who have better command of english than me. I can only write very simple english and hold a simple conversation. I am not good enough but at least I am willing to learn.
Tautology. The "over" part is already part of the definition of "exaggeration".Originally posted by cokeCan:It's over exaggerating, come on...
Yet another tautology. Unless, of course, you think that a moron is anything other than idiotic.Originally posted by cokeCan:Which idiotic moron will open ...
