Thanks RedizAlertz, guess no one else really understand. You are the 2nd person who made my day!Originally posted by RedizAlertz:Ok, at 1st when i read this topic, i was really expectin some REALLY bad command of english..But it turned out to be some complaint of another complaint.
After reading the posts, I thot (sorry, bad command of english reflected by me) karen had been unreasonably claimed tat the complaint is of "unbearable command of english" when she actually was pin-pointing somethin else..
Thus havin so many pple targeting back to her..
Ok lar..Let's not pin point anyone wif "unbearable command of english" anymore lar..I think Karen jus wanna vent out her fustrations..No hard feelings, pple!
The contents + the posts in this thread hav somewat drifted away from the Thread Title. Im so confused now..![]()
No. The story in post 1 has nothing to do with karen. She just lifted the story in it's entirety from another forum (not SGforums)Originally posted by me_a_clone:karen is trying to say that she is in the F&B for yrs and is upset that her sis have to put up with such poor service from that mention restaurant.
No?

so karen.. your thread was to let off steam regarding this John Doe/Jane Doe dining at the restaurant Giraffe and not really to talk about their poor command of English?Originally posted by cokeCan:Everyone has the rights to express their views and opinions but just as you know, I was having my dinner with my friends at that mentioned restaurant; Giraffe, on the very day. I witnessed the whole situation from the beginning till it ended and when I saw the complaints in two different forums, I am really shock and upset. They actually bother to go all ways to please them(which is a rare sight nowadays in this industry) but was being put down till such extend and with such poor command of english used. It's an insult to people like us. They simply treated us; people in F&B service industry, like some kind of 3rd/4th or even lower class citizens. Just because they are the customers.
No matter how abusive customers are, we still have to smile. Even they use vulgarities or even slam tables. Maybe you have no idea how it is like to be treated in that way. You need to be in it, to know it. No wonder the service standards drop so much since the past years. No one is keen in this anymore. Even if they have the passion, they may not have the tolerance level to put up with the customers we are getting nowadays.

Well, web forums have a culture where threadstarter is known as TS.Originally posted by cokeCan:My humble name is Karen, not TS. Will you people just stop addressing me as TS???? Thank you VERY MUCH!
My heartfelt appreciation for your opinion, I can't agree more. By the way, as far as I know, service charge is not given to service staffs either, it just go to the company.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Well, web forums have a culture where threadstarter is known as TS.
This is because it is not a common policy to reveal names in webforums.
Anyway, my two cents to this whole mess is that there's a lot of Singaporeans who have no appreciation of the realities of the service industry, and simply should be told to bugger off when they have overstepped the fine line separating decent customer service, and wanking non-stop about not being waited hand to foot.
That said, it takes two hands to clap. Scrap the service charge, bring back tipping and service staff will naturally have more incentive to provide professional service too.
Well, actually i do..Tho' it's confusing at the begining..Originally posted by venny:![]()
