Have you all ever considered the fact that he could have deliberately made that blog entry?
Lure and bait the blogosphere to publicise the whole incident, and force MOE to make a stand. And along with MOE, the whole government. It could easily become a slap-self situation for the government.
Obviously the school cannot sack him; doing so would be going straight against PM Lee's statement. Yet by the MOE's non-action, he is stepping out and sending a message to all homosexuals out there to stand out and fight for fights.
Of course, I am not against nor with him, but there's just this possibility. -

Perhaps when you learn to respect the sensitivities of the religious in the population to desire to bring up their children in accordance with the norms of their culture, traditions and religions will you appreciate the dangers you are courting. Trying to alter legislation against the wishes of the majority demonstrates the complete lack of respect for majority rule. Ignoring the stated law just because you disagree with it speaks of the complete disregard for the rule of law itself.

Even public sector got gay allowed right? no discrime wan. Very solid solid one.
So, if schools allow more gays and lesbians to teach, I wonder what would they teach in P.E lesson, moral education, religious knowledge, biology ?

Don't think anybody in the school even care what is said about sir otto. You know, i have been taught by him 2 years ago, and i can't tell at all that he is a gay. So, seriously, i don't buy that advocating nonsense.

Are the concepts of tolerance and acceptance so radical and alien to us and unsuitable for young people?
Can't we look past his orientation and see that he has been a really good teacher to his students?
Do people really know what they're saying when they afraid that he'll have an effect on impressionable youth? As Bear pointed out, maybe they're afraid that their children are gay. You can't impress what isn't already in them in this case.

sorry to many but I had always thought that blogs are so wrong.. why can't people just find a close friend or a beer to confide in.... If this guy's a good teacher be the teacher a gay or lesbian, if the person behave appropriately, its a private matter. Now its a public matter. When parents do wrong things around the kids, the parents give excuses. When other people do wrong things around the kids, the parents condamns.

If a person is born like this, scientifically it canÂ’t be helped, at least for now.
Today parents and children know that with freedom comes greater responsibility. If itÂ’s a learned inclination, parents must take responsibility for their childrenÂ’s behaviour. Just like being hooked on smoking. Go for counseling to restore his heterosexuality.

A society that panders to the majority may exist well.
A society that treats its minorities with more than just lip service, and goes the extra mile, is one that will thrive.
Some people cannot accept reality nor change, but let's bring them along for the ride. It would look badly on us if we leave them behind. Them wanting to leave the minorities behind, should not be an excuse for the progressives to treat them in a tit-for-tat manner.

He mentioned something in it that stuck me to be cruely true.
In school and outside school, there are very few avenues for a homosexual teenager to turn to for help and guidance.
And this in turn creates misguided individuals (some..not all) who get fingers pointed at them through out their lives.
You breed them....so that you can condemn them. Good job.
If schools are to remain solely for academic purposes then i suggest almost all schools to take the time to "restructure" their already in place school mottos that boast fact like "grooming and polishing young minds and hearts"
Anyways, the "gay agenda" has been discussed so much recently....especially in Singapore....i sense a big change coming soon...despite all the efforts from small minded people to nip the supposed "problem" in the bud.
I look forward to what i expect to be a big breakthrough for Singapore's overall development.
