It has always been about sex. Men do not have sex with men. During the 80s they had been blamed for AIDs with some quarters saying that this was a disease to punish them...it didn't help that they were deemed to lead a promiscuous lifestyle.

AIDS are spread much more by promiscious heterosexuals. The sheer numbers and proportion speak for themselves.
In any case, the older generation might be primitive, but they have seen enough in their lifetime to realise that change is the only constant. It is mostly the religious extremists who are being a devil's ass about everything. -

We are not advocating homosexual sex, but rather the right for homosexuals to live equally in the eyes of the law.
They are much more of a minority than the repressed primitives (whom also enjoy far more legal rights than the former), and so should have a tad more emphasis shown to their cause. -

But the good thing about Wicca is that it allows female clergy to perform full duties. The belief in a female creator is also more appealing.
