Do You Call this, A Solution? Or Another DIY Suggestion?

Patients can better plan visits to polyclinics with online information By Hasnita A Majid, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 16 September 2007 2157 hrs
SINGAPORE: Patients can now check online which polyclinics have the longest queues at the various counters. A real-time webcam queue watch will also help them find out how many people are in the queues.
Information such as attendance volumes and typical waiting times for registration and consultation at each polyclinic is updated monthly.
This new service will help patients choose a polyclinic which is less crowded or where the waiting time is shorter.
Webcam queue watch also provides time charts that show the peak and non-peak periods.
The initiative is a collaboration between SingHealth and National Health Group Polyclinics.

This illustrates, how "deeply and thoroughly" they thought before presenting their "solutions"...
..and I think this hardly falls under the category of Solutions; it simply tells people to "...find your way around it..!"
...bloody government..!

Another stupid idea.
Statistically, practically all the polyclinics are filled to the brim. As if even telling how packed each of the polyclinics are will make any difference.
When are they going to own up to the fact that the infrastructure is beginning to be strained to the max?

This is quite a strange initiative. The first thing i want to do when i'm ill is to travel to the nearest polyclinic rather than source for the least crowded one and travel.

I just wonder when the fark are they going to STOP being LAME?!?!?!!!

For crying out loud... this fancifully coined 'idea' "Q-Watch", is basically flawed. Don't they use their farking brains??? Or are they RELUCTANT to really address the cause of the long Q and waiting times?
It's like a doctor refusing to treat the cause of infection and just keep prescribing pain killers!!!
SHEER STUPIDITY....
Just read the merry but dumb statement in article: "... with a click of the mouse, and you will know which Polyclinic has the longest waiting time..."
just think... a few thousand people clicking to find one location lesser in Q, adn that few thousand goes there... what will happen?
LPPL right?? ... PURE LPPL!!!!
Wake up wake up wake up FARKING WAKE UP!!!!!!!

Most of the patients are old people. Do they really wanna on the com, connect to the net & surf the sites just to see how long is the queue from the nearest Polyclinic, then walk their frail sick body to take a bus to somewhere far because the queue is short?
They should spent the money to improve on the clinics services, not to install webcams around imo.

At X hour, there is little people in this particular clinic. By the time they reach, it's X hour + Y hour + Z minutes later. The number of people in the clinic would have changed by then.
Which makes it lame to have this real-time system.

stupid real stupid

the more i read this, the funnier it becomes..
thanks for helping me overcome my monday blues...

first thing they have to do is to TRAIN all the UNCLES & AUNTIES to surf the net

y dun they make it like they allow you to take a queue number first then call you on your handphone to remind you to come back as it is reaching your queue number..
then no need waste time, can go do marketing or eat breakfast...
charlize
You live in the West and want to go all the way to the East because that side has a shorter queue?
