I'm sure everyone has heard about the predator bombing afghanistan, could this be a solution for Singapore? Imagine if we had a hundred Predators replacing all our RPVs and we could put a few missiles into the Petronas twin towers during a war, we could have remoted controlled Bionixs or LSVs fighting in Malaysia, a perfect solution to prevent our soldiers from getting killed by Malaysians with stones shot from MiG-29s (hahahaah
). So while our machines of war go round rampaging through the malaysian countryside, we can stay here in s'pore sipping kopi and reading the straits times... -

so..we explode an E-bomb over KL...the electromagnetic pulses will fry every single circuit board in the city....telephones down...cell phone networks down...all computers down....radars down and even the life support equipment in hospitals will go kaput... even ur watch will be fried....so in another words... EVERYTHING will be virtually fried...most importantly...stock exchange will go down along wif the country's economy..
that will bring KL to her knees in no time... no way her troops in the frontline will be able to communicate wif the central command in KL..
we can thus wreck havoc everywhere..

Why don't we just develop Evangelions and Gundams and have them stomp across the causeway ? But to be more realistic, we could have robotic LSVs, check out a newsweek article about the SARGE (A Robotic dune buggy with TOW missles) and other nice destructive robotic toys. And for some inspiration, maybe we could develop something like AMEE from the Red Planet movie, robotics is a science that needs more imagination then application

Yes Sony Robot Man. Is it for some rich kid living in bungalows or can it withstand weeks of jungle warfare? Sure, anyone can easily build an army of robots, but its not gonna make a very big impact. Imagine how thats gonna sound. Robots are susceptible to jamming and any kind of counter-measures you can think off. You'll have a headache upgrading lage numbers of them every year to keep them current. If you had been to USAF's website, they had an article on TASS, their automated base protection system. It is almost perfect, but the system still notifies humans to react to a threat. Why? Although I would love to believe that this is the way in the future, we cannot sit around and imagine whats gonna happen. As of now and the foreseeable future, humans are still the dominant force in the battlefield. Star Wars isn't exactly fact either. -

Problem is the delivery vechicle will get fried too. Thus, you can't use a manned jet like an F-16 or an F-5. Their avionics will be fried before they could escape to a safe distance. Furthermore, current non-nuclear e-bomb tends to be huge in size and limited in power. To generate such an effective EMP to disrupt a city such as KL, you probably have to drop a small generator to create an EMP and only transport aircrafts such as the Hercs and the Fokkers can carry. Thus again, to drop it using a transport plane, we are assuming a total air-superiority, no effective anti-aircraft weapon bearing on the slow flying transport planes. It is simpler to puchase a very small yield air-burst nuclear device that will not create much hard to people and infrastructure, but will create enuff EMP to fry everything. Armed a Standoff missile with the very small yield air-burst nuclear device and then have the delivery plane (assuming a jet like a Viper) to get out of the danger zone ASAP.... -
to deliver this E-bomb....it can be done simply without riskin the f-16 or any plane tasked to deliver it.
first..we gonna buy either the rafale or the EF typhoon rite? they come with stand-off cruise missiles as sweeteners dont they? stormshadow etc....we could sure as hell change the warhead into a E-warhead... im pretty sure we will be able to do that provided we hav an E-bomb in the first place.

don't think of war as all or nothing. it hasn't happened like that since WW 2.
it really depends how u look at it...
using e-weapons will destroy the enemy's war making capability, but it will also escalate the conflict if your enemy refuses to surrender.
ultimately, its a question of political will. dare we open pandora's box? is it necessary to do so if we can achieve the same ends with less extreme means? -
Actually, on a smaller scale. What can really help in jungle warfare are miniature, 7.62 GPMG Remote controlled tanks. Small, high rate of fire, and can advance against enemy fire. It need only be the size of a racing KART, and with a substantial amount of ammunition, say 300rounds. Get a few of these, equip them with a thermal cam. And 2 guys to train how to operate them. Thats it.

more interested in manpad UAVs to help section/platoon do reconnaissance. sounds more feasible i think. -

SONY robot is only a "Prototype" of what the future brings.
As matters stand, robots have been depended upon by various industries to do simple repetitive works such as moving items along designated paths from one station to another, manufacturing and assembly, computations and calculations, sorting and identifying of large data base, and some hybrid program that is creating 'Artificial Intelligence".
Package these various into a heavy duty robot that is made of light weight armour - kevlar or any new lighter weight heavy armour - and you will have the future fighting robot that is dispensable, and tasked to perform missions too high risks for the NSF men.
Problem with reprogramming can easily be overcome with all the high tech links that will allow real time information to be uploaded from the Mother source, and downloaded by the Receiver nodes.
The technologies are already currently available in which high speed data links connect ground stations via airborne links to distant air borne or ground assets, with real time data being sent and received to allow immediate updating of mission plans.
The US Government has called on Hollywood to 'dream up' the possible FUTURE battle scenarios and likely trend of 'dream' weapons; and allowing creative minds to run wild imaginations, so that and independent and creative source can come up with new concepts and scenarios.
Never say IMPOSSIBLE to any idea. -

since we can't have nuclear weapons... apart from biological and chemical weapons... the best alternative would be electromagnetic missiles.... this will ensure a decisive edge over anyone.... 
therefore im very much in favor of us developing an e-warhead.

How will it affect our own heavily oriented electronically dependent and administered society ?
Great if it can fry the ERP and Cash Card Parking System, MRT, LRT, ez-Link, etc. etc. etc.
Make sure it will not create an electrical storm that blind our E2C Flying Eye, or our Long Distance Radar System, or our Ear in the Ground and in Space System. -
it depends... u can set the warhead to the magnitude u want i tink..
from what i read...there are even e-grenades...like flashbang..
theres no after-effects.. 1 electromagnetic pulse and thats it.. enough to fry everythin in its radius.. juz lob one over KL... will not affect us...
