funny u shoudl mention that, im an indian and well guess what singapore is a rasist country too what..Originally posted by starzzz:Malaysia is a RACIST Country!!
And it's true!!!! It's damn true!!!!
Cuz it doesn't matter what you are thinking or trying to say, cuz Mhatir says so!!!!
So thats the bottomline!!! Cuz the evidance proves so!!!!
Malaysia is a racist country and there's no doubt about it, look back during those times when our dear SM Lee who brings SG to merge with Malaysia and propose a Malaysian's Malaysia which made the Mr KUKU Ali and his racist gang so fumed up that they kick SG out of it.....
Look! Msian's govt got so many plans to double standards like setting qoutas to school, where the malays which have poorer and sicker minds get places in some schools which forced kids of other races with bright minds without a good education...
Look at the M'sian way of trying to curb the Chinese way of entrepuenership but putting cap on ownership or whatever.....
Sounds like Kukuharto's way too...
Msia is just racist I feels for the Indians and Chinese there
Actually these tribal people living in the jungles are not the "true" Malays as you and I would commonly associate with those Malays that we are familiar with.Originally posted by laser51088:Malaysian chinese. .. I went up to Penang for hols with family once, the taxi driver was ranitng on and on abt the first leader of the MCA being bought over by malays resulting in unequla rights for them, dunno how true it is. . . and note that while Malaysia complains that Singapore does not give special rights to its indegenious people -the malays, Malaysia also does not give any special rights to their indegenious people as well, the tribes people. . ., while these tribes people are also malays, they are not bumiputras and thus special rights do not extend to them, even though they are definitely the indegenious people of Malaysia and have been there for hundred of years, contradictory claim from Malaysia abt Singapore then, isn't it???
When you travel, you travel not only to enjoy and have fun. You keep an open eye and an open mind abt things and learn from the things there. What I am recounting are personal experiences from a trip up north where I also happened to learn a little bit more abt Malaysia.Originally posted by kyas:hello singaporean... if u think that we r racist and u hate the malaysian malays so much, please... do not come to malaysia. for those non bumis in Malaysia, if u don't like the government's policy, u can always be a singaporean. Nobody will stop u. It is better to have people who appreciate the peace and harmony here rather than accepting people who create disaster.
i have not been to singapore... and i have no intention to go there. What do u have there aa? just a small island... hehe...![]()
Yes I have heard of some of the Orang Asli. I am not certain if you are referring to those I met before. Two years back, I went to Endau Rompin on a school expedition, they acted as our local guides in the forests in Endau Rompin. I still carry the leech bite scars form that trip. . .will never forget it, and those guides really know the forests well. . .would recommend you to take a trip there yourself too if you want to really meet and find out about them, you can stay at the sort of lodging area or park ranger's HQ(whatever you call it, its accessible by road) in the forests, it has a museum of some sort displaying the plants and insects in those forests. There are comfortable beds there and a sort of large dome shaped shared toilet bulding with a few cuibicles inside. The government employ many of the Orang Asli as guides in these forests.Originally posted by kyas:". . . and note that while Malaysia complains that Singapore does not give special rights to its indegenious people -the malays, Malaysia also does not give any special rights to their indegenious people as well, the tribes people. . ."
u are absolutely wrong... they are included as bumiputera... and the government has continuously support them to succeed.. Have u ever heard Jabatan Hal Ehwal Orang Asli? We even have a radio station created especially for this people... and there are a lot of university graduate who are actually the tribes people.
i do not blame u for not knowing this....

Originally posted by kyas:Thats BULLSHIT! Sg followed the same economic paradigm as M'sia. We had the British, we had divide and rule, we had plantations (first gambier and pepper, then rubber), we had kampongs and fishermen and we had towns and commerce. But our people are better off in every respect than you guys up north. WHY? we managed to modernise and the people managed to improve WITHOUT gov't handouts. WHY?
Due colonialism, 'Malaysian' were divided into 3 main groups economically. One was the people who worked in the tin mines. Most of them were Chinese. They were more exposed to urban way of life. Second were the people who worked with the British in the rubber or oil palm estate. Too many them are Indians. They are lack of exposure in term of modernisation. The third was the people who make a living in the traditional sectors as fishermen and farmers. Most of them are the Malays and other ethnic people.
This colonialism had been going on for so many decades to the extent that it has created a stigma among the society saying that if you are Malay, u should be living in kampong and makes a living by being a farmer. If you are an Indian you cannot avoid yourself from being an estate worker. And Chinese must be a businessman. As a result, Chinese are wealthier than the others. The then leaders saw this as unhealthy situation, where the country's wealth was only enjoyed by a certain ethnic group.
That was why the Malaysian government has been giving a lot of assistance especially to the Bumiputera. We need to share the country's wealth equally. We need to break the barrier that separates the races in their colonial way of thinking and inheritance. Surely none of you out there can deny that if only one race controls the economy, there is a tendency that the others will be discriminated. A huge example, look at the U.S. the only superpower left after no more U.S.S.R. Look at how they act (I always wonder what functions the United Nation were created for).BULLSHIT! share wealth equally between your PM and his corrupt cronies more like it... the bumiputra policy has DIVIDED the ethnic groups. divide and rule exists to this day in M'sia! how on earth is it equal to GIVE unconditionally to one group and not give anything at all to another who needs help just as much? your reasoning is ridiculous!
By the way, what is actually the problem about wearing a tudung to school?there is essentially no problem. only that Sg prefers its students to wear school uniforms that do not distinguish them according to ethnicity or religion.
The first sentence explains everything. You cannot avoid from accepting the fact that in certain areas there are differences among the races. Why can't u just respect other people's belief? Even though there are differences, it does not mean that Singaporean cannot be united.Originally posted by CX:there is essentially no problem. only that Sg prefers its students to wear school uniforms that do not distinguish them according to ethnicity or religion.
i've remembered other instances during my childhood when the teachers have told students not to wear or attach any religious paraphenelia on their uniforms. permission was given in special cases of course... sikhs could wear turbans because of their religion and because i think, it did not alter the basic uniform in any way.
the tudung is not exactly a MUST in Islam... and the way this issue has been played out, it is no longer religious. it has been exploited by parties with vested political interests.
i might add that there are OTHER female malay students in the school who DO NOT wear the tudung. if the girl's family cares for her modesty so much, then they should send her to a Madrasah where ALL girls dress that way. but no! they want the quality education of a gov't school but they refuse to obey the rules! just shows u how shallow the entire attempt is.
to me, i would have no comments if it was ever decided that ALL muslim girls who have reached puberty would wear tudung... but thats not the case... it remains a personal choice. and in this case, it was made by the girl's parents, not even a personal choice of the little girl.
so we can't have this sort of untidiness in the gov't school system. all students must be treated the same. no better, no worse and no concessions can be given unless it was absolutely necessary. if it was ever given, then the same privilege must be given to everybody. that is our way of preserving the fabric of our multi-ethnic society. its not a free for all.
Something for u my dearÂ….Originally posted by kyas:The first sentence explains everything. You cannot avoid from accepting the fact that in certain areas there are differences among the races. It is a MUST for all Muslim girls to wear tudung when they reach puberty. Yes, there are Muslim girls who prefer not to wear tudung because the Islamic rules are there to be followed or in this case they were broken. Regardless of whether this issue has been politicised or not, the recent case has shown how Muslims are being discriminated in Singapore.
We do not want that to happen in Malaysia.
relax... most of us are responsible individuals. age is not the issue here. i'll respect any view that is well read, open minded and well thought out.Originally posted by putey:How old are the ppl in the Speaker'sCorner/Politics?
I was reading through the posts in this thread and my impression was "Are these really mature ppl speaking out? If they are, then this world is really heading into another aggression level"
All those war mongering posts really ought to be done with care. With situation so fragile and especially at this time, this really have to be stopped. Unless, war is what everybody really wants here. Death, orphans, crying babies, crippled man.......this is getting nearer to reality...
how tyically malaysian... to only reply selectively on issues which they feel most able to raise hell over...Originally posted by kyas:The first sentence explains everything.
