did he even know what he's talking about? how many of those stuff out there is more expensive than Seng Shiong or Shop & Save. To run a business to not to make money. Who is the million dollar man trying to bull$hit. which business of theirs is not making money? even essentials like medical is making $$$

The 19.3-ha AMK Hub is developed by the Singapore Labour Foundation, NTUC income and the NTUC supermarket chain.
SINGAPORE : The AMK Hub was officially opened to much fanfare on Saturday after its soft launch in March.
The complex houses a record number of NTUC cooperatives under one roof - seven in all.
It also houses hundreds of other tenants.
According to former labour chief Lim Boon Heng who officially opened the Hub, the cooperatives are all for the people and by the people.
Mr Lim is also Minister in the Prime Minister's Office.
NTUC declines to say how much it costs to have the cooperatives at the mall but the decision for the central location is for the convenience of union members, and the public at large.
Mr Lim, who is also Minister, Prime Minister's Office, says: "The primary purpose of the cooperatives is not to make money for the sake of making money. It is to make money but at the same time to deliver the best value for the customers, which means at the lowest price possible. Generating profits so it can be a strong organisation to do this job."
The Hub houses cooperatives like NTUC Childcare, NTUC FairPrice and NTUC Income but the AMK Hub is not just about a new outlet for the cooperatives.
The Minister says the cooperatives are also changing with the times.
He cites the NTUC Childcare as an example, because it had tapped research and development to create the right curriculum for children.
The cooperatives are part of the almost 50,000 square metre shopping centre. - CNA/ch

They expect people to sell their cars just to avoid paying an additional few dollars a day.
They expect more people to take public transport when its already so crowded during peak hours and the public transport companies are doing nothing about it.
Also, they want to ease traffic congestion, how to when the population is expected to reach 6 mil? -

Lowering the price = More people buy = More Profit earned.
Those cooperations are out there to earn peoples' money. Unless that AMK hub is run by non-profit organization.
He's just twisting the words making it look like they are really caring for the people.

While I see a few of you have somethings to rant about, I would say that the MAJORITY have nothing to rant about. They are happy.

NTUC fairprice, I think it is ok;
NTUC childcare, I heard not good compared with private one;
NTUC income, I cannot claim back the medical expense, i called them 3 times, 3 times giving me 3 different reason why i cannot claim;

I switched from ExxonMobile to Shell because ExxonMobile tied up with NTUC -
BTW I can't stand them because I blame them for driving the mom and pop grocery stores out of business.
