Let's face it, everyone wants to be recognised as successful, progressive, free and "democratic". but many has little clue about how to go about doing it realistically acceptable with stable and practical outcomes.
Name me a few "successful" demoractic Asian counties like S Korean or Japan, and I can counter with a few not-so-successfull ones like Philippines, Thailand or even India. Each has their own range of issues ranging from proverty, massive corrupts, illiteracy,labour unrest, insurgence etc...
There is always a trade off in every system, mooded by time and shaped by external powers.
Taiwan is no exception, which is nothing more than KMT refugee entity where major powers play it out as a pawn.
This "democracy" thingy is an dangerous elusion which some Taiwanese fails to understand or even bothered. -

Some of you mentioned that the Taiwanese commenter should not criticize Singapore and her PAP government. But what is the big idea here?
As allentyb mentioned, Singaporeans already know about the despotism of Lee family. But do remember the show is a Taiwanese political show meant for the Taiwanese audience. It was not intended for Singaporean audience anyway. Get this point right before arguing.
I see no harm in them commenting on Singapore. They are the outsiders and sometimes outsiders can have a clearer picture of the political arena of a nation as they have not being influenced by it in one way or the other. And one of the commenter did dig out plenty of evidence to prove his point.

Comedy Channel? zzz u must be a joker. Taiwanese are generally very concerned about their politics and political development unlike Singaporeans. Hence they have lot of political shows going around. Actually they are rather self-critical about their own government and the opposition KMT. Look at Singapore. Do we have any of these? Yes, I have to agree that Taiwan's prospering "political shows" are there for a purpose. Entertainment or self-depreciatiing degradation? It is meant for everyone and for anything. I often hear more noise than "action" in the Taiwanese parliament.

Whereas if a Singaporean earn $1000,he cant double or triple that one-thousand dollars becoz he eat,drink n "live permanently" here,and that one thousand dollars is not much to you if u are a Singaporeans n have no where to run,of coz you will has a lot of bad words!!!
