Fully agree. If someone really kena invite by police to lim kopi cos he's burmese and has been tracked via sms, get him to report the story to Newpaper or parties that are interested. It'll make good news and get him paid too.

Did you not notice this thread started with an article by an Aussie. My post is in reference to the harsh words against those who lap up such foreign crap against their own country.
I expect they would close ranks against foreigners.
Let me digress:
I quarrel with my brothers and sisters, and sometimes we hate each other. But when an outsider says something against any of my siblings, even the ones I have fallen out with, I would tick off that outsider.
Unfortunately some forumers don't have pride in their country, such that they join foreigners in critizing their own country.
The problem with the old China was that it has not the spirit to accept and admit its own weaknesses that have been exposed by others, and with false pride will unashamedly reject all foreign and local criticism.
The illusion of power and self-deception of its own greatness led China to its own destruction in the hands of foreign forces.
It is the ability to acknowledge criticism and examine if such criticism is valid that allow us to have another perspective offered by others.
If the criticism is invalid, we can always brush off such views - like water off a duck's back - without injuring ourselves.
Let the invalid views be like some fool breaking wind that blows back to humiliate the fool.
When citizens are disenfranchised and their minds purposefully dulled, and any criticisms are disregarded or ignored by the Power of ONE - will it not be fortunate and helpful for Citizens to have an alternative voice that will be of help ?
Incidentally, in a population of 4.5 million - how often do you see Singaporeans wear hats ?
Are you already westernised to this extent even with your thoughts ? -
mmmh ever read of reports that put the PAP in a bad light in the ST before? I never did... and I don't expect that to change anytime soon. Soon does that mean that any incident unreported in the ST did not happened at all?

We are referring to a govt that boasts of good governance and places great emphasis on combating corruption.
Unless those implications are baseless, how can the people be proud of the fact that their govt or itÂ’s state-funded companies have dealings with a pariah junta. -

While some segments are guilty of a foreign bias, one must realise that the words and deeds of the Singaporean government are not to be taken and trusted 100%.
There will be institutional bias in any angle. However, at least the international press places names and figures out in the article, so if you think that it's bias, you can still go and do your own research. -
