  What I think....
  
  With a strong(tight) government control/rule, economy will prosper and people will become more competitive. With that, can say that most of the people will be interested in their bread and butter issue than rather involving themselves in politics as they see it the country is being peaceful and the government is governing the state well.
  
  With more freedom, the government may be shaky as people may lose their confidence in them, economy will not benefit (the same scenario happening in Taiwan) people may lose their appetite in politics and hoped for a stable government with good living conditions.
  
  With that,
  
  There will be both good and bad points with any system Singapore is under on. So for now it depend on which system is more beneficial.
  
  Whatever things that are given to us, we may not treasure it properly on most occasions and may end up abusing it.

  Singaporeans must be held responsible for the way singapore is , will be and was.
  
  I regard a government highly, but second to the People, in terms of influencing the direction a nation takes. Democracy to me has to give some form of freedom of speech and expressing different views, because NOT EVERYONE is a ROBOT , think and act the same, nor prefer the same. We should respect individuals intelligence. Individuals' views and let them be heard. This , to me, is fundamental to making the nation more tolerant of diverse views. Tolerant does not mean accepting the views. Not accepting views does not mean restricting views. Being magnanimous means allowing views to be heard without fear. Fear destroys many things like creativity, innovation and new ideas.
  
  Since to me singaporeans collectively are responsible for singapore situation, I feel like saying the MAJORITY, specifically, are the ones responsible for the singapore situation. They enabled the reality.
