Maybe, however there is a remote possibility they had a permit. Else, they didn't get loudhailer Chee to hijack and broadcast the possibly short gathering. Thus the police might not have known about it. No placards, no headbands it seems. Just a few ang moh gathering and someone giving a speech. If i were standing opposite them i might not have known they were supporting the burmese cause.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:Government by the rich for the rich and foreigners...
CSJ is under country arrest, he can't go overseasOriginally posted by mancha:The police modus operandi:
The police first observe, then give a warning, then repeat the warning, then final warning, then last warning, then move in to break up gathering, then only arrest.
Does CSJ realised he was never placed under house arrest like Aung San Suu Kii.
You know why?
He has absolutely no credibility.
Technically he can, just need to seek permission else pay his debts.Originally posted by t_a_s:CSJ is under country arrest, he can't go overseas
Most likely will be rejected if seek permission, how to pay $500k debt ? He already lost his freedom. While T T Durai can go overseas and work, CSJ can't go overseas and in Singapore no body will dare to employ himOriginally posted by kramnave:Technically he can, just need to seek permission else pay his debts.
Well, he was allowed to go overseas to collect his award. If he gains employment overseas they might let him go lor. However i recall him saying that he does not want to work again as he doesn't want to return the lees any money.Originally posted by t_a_s:Most likely will be rejected if seek permission, how to pay $500k debt ? besides its outside an embasy, no police/guards?![]()
I beg to differ. If you looked at the photo, they were well dressed and organised. They stood around while someone was giving a speech. They even had name tags on them. They didn't even look like they were protesting or demonstrating. Basically they might have just gone there, made a short speech to themselves and left.Originally posted by Sagara:Different pple, different treatment mah...

the police only acted if there is a complaint, in this case may be no complaint from the publicOriginally posted by hisoka:I'm more interested in why it was allowed and no police or such stopped them.
