PM Lee said no to crusading journalism while MM Lee said yes to press analytical writing to catch up with internet which provided such in-dept information.I am happy if Singapore mainstream propaganda media stop propagating pro-USA, pro-Israel, pro-PAP propaganda.

If PAP had made a policy mistake and is willing to spend political capital to cover up their mistakes, will our "credible" newspapers criticize?
In elections , would the newspaper serve party interest or would they serve Singaporean interest?
Yes. but the article is strictly banned in SG.Originally posted by robertteh:PM Lee said no to crusading journalism while MM Lee said yes to press analytical writing to catch up with internet which provided such in-dept information.
So who is leading Singapore now. How would the Straits Times react to this differentiation.
Will Straits Times' journalists be permitted to write analytically on the citizens' facing rising costs of living due to government's own persistent habits of raising of fees making clever but exploitative small regular adjustments from medical care to public transport to double-charging on lands in sale of HDB flats and triple charging on vehicle ownership.
I picked up the papers today and found that Hongkong is cutting corporate taxes. Its hard to pick that up from alternative media. You may be pissed that Singapore mainstream media dishes out propaganda, it would be unfair to say that they have no value as a source of information. They have much more information to offer than alternative news websites. If we don't embrace every form of media, we become ignorant and naive.Originally posted by Poh Ah Pak:Only the ignorant and the naive would see value in the Singapore mainstream propaganda media as a source of information.

Mr. Brown cannot satirise about government giving monies to people before election and increasing all the fees to take back everything and more after election,Originally posted by caleb_chiang:Yes. but the article is strictly banned in SG.![]()

In the case of Myanmar military junta, the old man seems to be in a damage control code to salvage Singapore's image so as not to be seen by UN or the outside world as having any clandestine going-on with its military.Originally posted by pearlie27:Father and son seem to be voicing conflicting views lately. The situation is even far worse than you think.
Its definitely pro-Israel, and worship militarism, recently mouthpiece have one article [Air strike on Syria restores Israeli military prestige] !!
Pro-Singapore is not pro-party, pro-government, pro-self-interest of self-glory of governing elites, but pro-vital long-term interest of citizens (greatest good of greatest number) and for evolving a sustainable governing system which will utilize the collective practical talents of all citizens and not deprive of their retirement savings, their freedoms, their rights and privileges as citizens.Originally posted by LazerLordz:I don't mind the pro-West slant, just be pro-Singapore too.
