When these ERP cards are installed on new cars, the machine n cost of installation has already been factored into selling price of the car,how come
the first three years is free of charge n later need to be paid? If they want to charge it, they should charge it upfront, not free on the first three years n later need to be paid. I assumed during the first three years of free trial of ERP, the govt could have incurred charges of gibing it free to the people.

it will only be cheaper is we have access to the pricing of the 5-6 energy operators and the pricing is easy to understand and interpret by normal citizens without needing a degree in mathematics to understand it.
easier for singaporeans, not really. as more time will be spent by singaporeans to find out who is cheaper and i bet in most cases, most of us dont really understand how it works.
i seriously question the motive of the EMA or the ruling party whether they truely take care the well being of singaporeans or like more forumers mention just another scam for them to make more money from the already drain average singaporeans!!! -

in the foreseeable future where energy prices will most probably remain at high level, i dont see how these company can offer the better prices. worse still more isses we need to know.
1.if we quit SP power, can we rejoin again when it pricing become cheaper than the rest?
2.does these 5 company need to apply to EMA for any prices increment?
3. any termination charges?

These are my guess.
a) Option 1
A, B, C, and D, will have to lay down new cable network physically to connect themselves to every household island wide. that means, we will have 4 meters, 4 sets of wiring etc at every household.
b) Option 2
To continue with existing infrastucture, but allow A. B. C and D. cross supply and sell to one another territory and control the billing at consumer end.
Personally I think option 2 is what our government is looking for and it does make sense to require the consumer to pay as you use as not power station would want to be liable for one another customers.

How often have we heard in the past from this MIW Government claims that Singapore is simply too small a territory to provide any substantial critical mass for more then one company to exist to provide any reasonable competition for most major essential services.
This statement justified the MIW Government to amalgamate the earlier private bus companies that operate more then 14 different services that provided direct connections to the most remote corners of Singapore.
Almost 10 years later, from a single Singapore Bus Services Company that replaced all private companies, the Government decided to have competition again by allowing the entry of new bus companies - ALL GOVERNMENT OWNED in one form or another in CSS and Transit-link, and now the SMRT.
The same was said of the Telcos, which saw SingTel being dismantled after more then two decades of monopolistic practises, facing the introduction of M-1 and then Starhubs - with Temasek holding major interests in all three telcos.
Surprisingly, even as new services and prices tumbled from the very high monopolistic prices imposed by SingTel that had created a bloated treasury in SingTel, the prices remained as high when compared to the rates in neighboring countries like Malaysia where at least some real private enterprise exist in the telco sector.
International calls made from Digi Malaysia to Vietnam, Europe and to the USA - are cheaper by more then 80% then the charges by all three Singapore Government Linked Telcos.
Electricity Supply has always been a strategic service that the Singapore Government had claimed the need for total control. It came as a surprise when it suddenly announced its efforts at privatisation in creating new private companies.
Unfortunately, the privatisation scam was merely an exercise to distance itself from accusations of being directly responsible for increasing fluctuations in rate increases in response to whatever market forces.
Since their creation have Singaporeans seen those four companies providing lower electricity rates ?
How can this happen when Electric Rates are pegged to the fluctuation of the oil prices that are beyond the control of even the MIW Government ?
By splitting into four separate companies - are we not burden with four sets of separate replication of infrastructural costs of management, work force and equipment ?
Have these new companies achieve any new operating efficiencies when their economies of scale has been compromised ?
If at all, the constant creation of new companies to replace existing Government Statutory Boards is merely to create new opportunities for the massive size of retiring loyal MIW cronies and hard working Civil Servants to ''retire'' from public service, with high paying jobs as senior executives in these new corporations in the ''Private Sector'' - all paid for by the pockets of Singaporeans.
Take a peek at the web of Government Owned Companies in the Privatisation Effort of this MIW Government, and you can see the heads of all these Private Corporation are loyalists of the MIW clones.
With such a burden of MIW clones managing a growiing web of Government owned ''Private Companies'' to provide the same services previously provided by Statutory Boards - do we need to understand further the cause of such high cost of essential services that affect the Cost of Living in Singapore ? -

The answer to that is rather simple. Coz in other bigger country, there is a lot of electric and gas company. They sell gas and electric and charge on a quarterly basis. If you don;t like the plan or scheme of one, you can alway go to another. However there is only about 5max such big company in most cases. I can go into detail about how they do it but i won't. Is it not in your typical style to defer from giving a reply when you are stumped, by posting a non-reply to my response and will digress into an entire different direction - as seen in your follow-up effort on 24 October 2007 - 09.47 PM on this Page 6 ?
This is a single example taken from this thread alone, and others abound in all the threads that you have participated and derailed - with your purposeful mischief in placing the thread off-track when you are simply floored.
