look at the sentence, there are 2 charges cuz 2 people died, but the driver only kena 1 charge as the other charge was "tic" means taken into consideration only.

Abt 10yrs ago. A undergrad knocked down and killed a technician who was the only children of the old man. Her lawyer manage to convince the judge that jailing her will ruin her future. This gal never stop the car and ran off when the incident occurs. WORST,she asked her mother to be the scapegoat as the driver during the incident.
During the interrogation, CID managed to find out the mother was not the driver at that time. The gal was charged in court and get away with a fine only....
Few yrs ago, an undergrad was charged with killing her own baby as she dumped her new born baby in dustbin.(she was dumped by her ex) She was let off with a warning by the judge only as the newborn baby was diagnosed dead before he/she was born.
The gal had intention of dumping her newborn child when she was born. Yes,the new born was dead before she/he was born. But shouldn't the attempt murder intention be taken into account? Yet,she was let off with a WARNING ONLY.. not even a fine. U know why? Cos she got a bright future of contributing huge income tax for sg gov...
With a degree or high education or high income, u are indeed given special priviliege in sg -
