Generation is everything.....
My generation has more tolerate for gays/lesbian. While my parent's generation have less. And my grandparent would must properly just want to in prison them on some deserted island.
There was a time when being holding a girl's hand while walking in public is consider sinful and morally wrong, yet times change and idea and views change.
So it is the same here..... when it is your Generation that is leading S'pore, your generation could then remove this law.
For the record..... I'm not anti or pro gay/lesbian. But I'm glad that Section 377A is kept. Hate me if you want, condamn me if you want...... I don't care.
I belong to the 'older' generation who was brought up with the notion that a man must marry only a woman..... not to each other. As I grow older, I no longer see being gay/lesbian as morally wrong or sinful..... but I'm still pretty uncomfortable about it. I very much prefer that the gays/lesbians give my generation (or at least me) time to slowly change our view.Originally posted by hisoka:you're not pro or anti but glad the anti male homosexuals law is kept?![]()
Does it make sense?Originally posted by Mitell:This 377A is required and it is also justice; it is needed to deal with Male rape and the victim. Consenting or not very hard to define in court, the best is stop before it happened![]()

In short..... I'm not anti gay/lesbian, but either am I ready to welcome them with open arm. Which is why I'm glad that Section 377A is kept.... but can't & not be enforce.
Gays/Lesbian have as much right to live and be free as everyone else. I don't and wouldn't actively stop or condamn them for their lifestyle..... But I also don't want a "Pride Parade" to be held in S'pore too.
Should gay/lesbian be kept inside closet....No, I don't think they should.
Should I welcome them with open arm.....Sorry, I couldn't..... at least not yet.
PS -
If anyone out there could find some proof that the govt send police into other ppls bedroom to enforce Section 377A, pls let me know. If not, I don't think keeping around an un-enforce law is too big a deal. My own view of course.

In accordance to what has been said by so many people here, and your responses to them...I hope that by the time "quote" your generation "un-quote" takes over the decision making, you guys know how to properly run a country. It sounds like you guys will.Originally posted by Fairness:Hahahhaha. Nice one clandestine. You amuse me![]()

A new section 376 covers male to male rape.Originally posted by Mitell:na bei, which side are u on?
well, let take a man on man and not a voluntarily case for example. penal code of rape from 375 to 377A. would u like to share your view here?
or shall we wait for little fairness and see what his/her take on that?![]()
Like the Anwar one ?Originally posted by googoomuck:A new section 376 covers male to male rape.
Section 377A is to punish two consenting adults. PM Lee personally guaranteed that " we don't proactively enforce Section 377A on them(Gays)."
IMO, it is still retained in case there's a need for a kangaroo trial.
