Can SG ever be as freedom as Japan or Korea etc ?

  This is a pure hypothetical, uneducated discussion about the possible scenarios under which sg can change its level of FREEDOM and world ranking of its Press and etc.
  
  I like to hear your wild thoughts about the possible scenarios under which SG can be considered as FREEDOM as say Japan, Korea etc etc until cannot the etc.

  erm.. u know the south korean gahmen never proclaim themselves as a first world country... unlike u know who luvs proclaiming themselves as first world..

  south korea is not a first world country, their per capita income is less than ours. Singapore is first world because our per capita income is that of first world country, we should be proud of that but then, we are behind the first world country in human rights, freedom of speech, electoral process.

  come to think of it.. based on 2006 IMF study.. singapore stand higher than japan in terms of GDP..

  Using per capita income as a measure of wealth of the population is not an accurate measurement.
  
  Per capita income gives no indication of the distribution of that income within the country, so a small wealthy class can increase the measured per-capita income far above that of the majority of the population

  Compare apple with apple: S.Korea, Taiwan, HK and Sgp.
  Look at the results of their economic progress individually. It does indicate something. Freedom does not hinder a countryÂ’s progress nor does it hamper itÂ’s economic growth.
  S.Korea and Taiwan were once ruled by dictatorship. After becoming democracy, they are now ahead of Sgp economically.
