You must be kidding me. SDP on their website and SDP supporters in Sammyboy have been attacking WP for the last few days.
Reason? For attacking them. Where? Sylvia Lim speech mentioned nothing about SDP. I sieved through all the blogs of WP members. There are about 10 of them. Melvin Tan, Peery Tong, Lilian Lee, Yaw Shin Leong etc. Zero mention of SDP. Nothing in any forum from WP members. They are not rankled by SDP attacks. Only see a lot of SDP supporters starting threads after threads attacking WP.
Let's get back to the issue. SDP was pissed off with WP for not supporting foreign interference. They haven't told Singaporeans how they can secure the help of foreigners to displace PAP (and install SDP as govt) without being beholden to them.
Look at Iraq and Afghanistan. US called the shots after replacing their govts. Their new system mirrored the US presidential system. Is the presidential system suitable for Singapore?
Why?
Passive readers are recommended to read the Straits times instead.
California Gopalan Nair also launched scathing attacks on Sylvia, SDA and WP.Originally posted by googoomuck:Could be moles planted in the forums attempting a political sabotage.

of cos. i support Sylvia Lim's position and I think SDP under Chee is a spineless party.Originally posted by t_a_s:worker party not so aggressive, they are very cautious in making statement. While SPP dont have good leader, after CST retire, what would happen if no credible leader take over, Potong Pasir will fall to PAP's hand
This piece must surely take the cake at being the most skewed opinion laced with shameless effrontery.Originally posted by GPSg:Lets face facts. SDP is a party which very very very very very very very few Singaporeans support. Look at Chee sitting alone for 5 days outside the Istana. How many Singaporeans give a hoot?
And then look at the WP. Look at their support - the whole Hougang field jam packed.
Whose truth are you referring to ?
Sylvia did very well in saying we do not need outside interference - which is also the truth. Which country on earth needs outside interference, besides despotic regimes like Burma and African countries?
Are Singaporeans given any opportunity to express themselves in the same manner as the people of Burma or Darfur ?
More importantly, notice that it is the people of Burma, the people of Darfur, the people of despotic regimes which called for UN and US help.
Then ask ourselves: Are Singaporeans calling or even think we need UN or US help?
Get real, SDP ?
Get real, SDP!
That is the problem with Dr Chee and the SDP. Always shooting the wrong target. Go out there and ask Singaporeans: "Do you support foreign intervention or interference in our domestic affairs?"
What do you think the result will be?
With one sentence, Sylvia had aligned herself with the MIW Government and clones in justifying the use of the Law to terrorise and subjugate Singaporeans from excercising their political rights in public.

Sylvia did the right thing with just one sentence:
1. She understood what majority of Singaporeans don't want.
2. She distanced herself and the WP from the extremism of the SDP.
3. She articulated a sensible position.
Well done, Sylvia!

Do you seriously believe that the lack of Singaporean presence with Chee at the Istana is due to a lack of support for his politics; or is the lack of presence due to Singaporeans' fear of being tangled up by the MIW unethical methods in abusing the legal process to persecute any Singaporean so as to prevent legitimate expressions of grievances against the MIW Government ?
What do you think will be the agenda of all those helpful countries to help the Maymar Citizens to regain democracy, or does each country have their own agenda ?Originally posted by Daddy!!:common, do you think that external forces come here for you and me? get real, if they are here, they come with their own set of agenda. Primary school education.
SDP's frame of thought is anti whatever our fore-fathers have built for us.
WP would get more support and votes from singaporeans. SDP will be extinct because they will get lesser and lesser votes.
But that happens to be the truth whether you like it or not...Originally posted by GPSg:Oh pur-leaseeee!
Whenever no one turns up for SDP activities, their apologists will say, "Oh, it's because singaporeans are scared... they have been brainwashed... the medis is unfair... "
What a load of crap!
Is anyone apologising for the poor turnout ?Originally posted by GPSg:Oh pur-leaseeee!

Even Black September managed to gather more people than SDP events. What does that tell you?
Facts ?
Most Singaporeans do not support SDP. That is a fact. You see this from election results (of course, you will have tons of reasons to explain this... unfair elections lah, media bias lah... unfair laws lah..), you see this from attendances at SDP events, you see this from talking to people, you see this at Hong Lim Park (no singaoprean turned up..ok, maybe 2), at the Burmese Embassy(most were Burmese), at the Freedom Walk (zero people joined them), etc etc..
Face facts.
Facts ?
You can blame the PAP or now, the WP, until the cows come home. Fact is, most singaporeans not only shun SDP, most singaporeans actually HATE the SDP now.
Just go out there and ask anyone.
Face facts.
Why will the blame not be ignored if the truth is not there ?
Blaming the PAP, the government, the media, singaporean for being brainwashed (what a load of crap this!), blame election process, blame boundaries redrawing, blame defamation suits, blame this blame that.
Blame everything except themselves.
Soon, they will start blaming international community for not helping them.
They have become The Blaming Party.
hello, you just said Singapore (external force) helped Mymama and Singapore has its own agenda. So isn't it the same tone i was singing?Originally posted by Atobe:What do you think will be the agenda of all those helpful countries to help the Maymar Citizens to regain democracy, or does each country have their own agenda ?
Perhaps, Singapore's agenda is to regain the good name of MM LKY - as he had said there were many investors who listened to him, and had placed heavy investments into Myanmar on his advice.
Beside MM's good name being on Singapore's agenda to help Myanmar - could the other item on the agenda be the Singapore weapons sales agenda ?
If you believe that altruism do not exist in this world, you are most welcom to the world of cynics.
At the end of the day, no Singaporean turns up at SDP events. Period. The above statement is untrue.
You should stick to verifiable facts . Your statement has been proven to be untrue.Originally posted by GPSg:Atobe, you call those facts? Hahaaha.. try and distinguish your own personal opinions and facts lah. No wonder the SDP keeps running round in circles.
Suit yourself, bro. At the end of the day, no Singaporean turns up at SDP events. Period.
Now, that's a demonstrable, unequivocal fact.
