Kids these days, are being given TOO much... flaunting handphones, laptops, huge pocket money, etc...
- back in the old days, most things we brought to schools were books... and confiscated items were those little tiny green plastic soldier figurines we play with... and of course, packs of small 10 sticks ciggies... hehehehe...

Dun forget, we were all kid once and we all know that kid will misbehave and that too is a way of learning. But the school is not handling the situation properly by misplacing something that don't belong to them. Even in a government sector, any confiscated item is being declare and if needed to be deposed/destroy off is done in front of the owner. By saying that they have miss place a confiscated item and conclude the whole affair is improper by any school standard. Who can assure that they didn't confiscate those item for their own use? (even though it is not likely). Teacher should lead and teach by setting good example. Afterall, the purpose of the confiscation is to educate the student, not joy from senseless punishment.

yup, probably what was really expensive back then was walkman or pager....which was like only afew could afford

say, someone smuggle in pirated dvds into singapore, and got caught, and was confiscated, and the police accidentally broke 1 dvd. can you go and sue the police for losing the dvd?
i'm assuming you're doing this to threaten the school, then you're in trouble in the eyes of the law.
besides the dvds are to be destroyed anyway. if its some good held for what ever reason for investigation, then they should be expected to be accountable for the condition of the object -

Bottomline is that you broke the school rule... so it's at least an even there. -
hmm. i think its not right that the school shrug off responsibility for losing the PSP. they should think of compensation etc.
but i think the attitude of the TS is really too much. Cocky little son-of-a..
