to build IRs to pamper tourists, to build F1 infrastructure for rich drivers, to buy A380s to pamper rich people, to give TT Duran and Richard Yong tonnes of peanuts, to give ministars fat salary, to let man man lose in lots of investments, to waste tonnes of $$$ in NDP meaningless celebration and worthless ching gay etc etc....
but no $$$ to build a temporary market for AMK stallholders, to lower the selling prices of hdb flats, to lower the gst (in turn other basic needs' cost prices also go up), to lower medical costs, to lower the inflation rate etc etc.... -
Becoz rich people pump alot of money to buy IR land, pump alot of money to come here to gamble, pump money to buy F1 tickets, pump money to stay hotel here, pump money to shop, pump money to sit SQ and ogle at ugly squeeky voiced SQ girls...so on and so forth...

I think society has different ways of social/economic distribution by means of government intervention or charitable organisations. In a capitalistic democracy, inequality will ultimately exist unless we suscribe to Karl Marx's theory that capitalism does not bring happiness. The question is who the rich sell their products & services to? The poor, middle & upper people. The upper made up the smallest %. While middle made up the greatest & follow by poor. Imagine hawker selling chicken rice, can he relying oni on rich customers? If MRT & Singtel oni rely on rich, they would bankrupt veri soon. A report show middle income make up the greatest donation, follow by the poor & the least is the rich. Why? bcos the rich make up the smallest number

its time to stop spending on luxuries..... or rather... just put it on hold and spend more on welfare and benefits for the people...
singapore is already advanced in so many ways.... it doesnt hurt just to slow down for a while...
