Dear friends and supporters,
If you've been following the work that we've been doing, you will see that we've been pounding (grinding, if you prefer) away at it over the last several years.
We've been using this website, especially in the past year or so, to disseminate information and to raise awareness about the need for an open, democratic Singapore.
We have also put our words into action: organising seminars and forums as well as initiating public civil action all in the effort to push back the oppressive limits that the PAP has placed on our people.
We believe that we have made progress. Our campaign has grown and is growing. Our aim is to turn it into a veritable movement.
One worry that we have, however, is that the momentum will stall and die. We must not let that happen.
And it will without your support. No democracy movement has ever gone anywhere without the people's support.
We have hitherto resisted making a concerted effort to ask for financial support because we had wanted to build up our track record first.
Today, we have defined who we are, we've been unambiguous about what we stand for and we have a clear strategy on how we're going to succeed in making our dream of a democratic Singapore come true.
We have members and followers who are willing to persevere, go the extra mile, and take the knocks.
The next step is for us to expand our work and to make our campaign really come alive. In other words we need to more than just survive, we need to thrive.
For this to happen, we need funds - funds for advocacy work, research and training.
So if you believe in what we stand for, if you support what we are trying to achieve for Singapore, if you believe that we can make a difference in our nation's politics then please contribute to the cause.
As difficult as things are at the moment, we have never been more hopeful because we know that we stand on the right side of history.
The question is not whether change will come but rather when and how.

The truth is that they need funds to fight the court cases. As bankrupts, all their monies will be subject to official assignees, that is the govt.
Nowhere in that article did the SDP say what they need the funds for. EXACTLY what are they going to do with the funds?
And they say their movement is growing. Look at the support at their protests. How many people turned up? Movement growing? More like movement dying. -

If the appeal from Chaim See Tong or Low Thia Kiang, sure I will support... but from SDP, hmm.. difficult leh ... I cannot agree to all that Chee is doing except to say, he is trying very hard to fight the government. there is so much he can learn from the two opposition mp.. that way I sure he will have more supporter..

Shut down the party and reform under new leadership as another party. -
i think many ppl would rather donate to CST than CSJ..

The trouble is they team up with him and get rid of Chaim See Tong.. so not likely for them the part get rid of Chee in the same manner, unless they got someone with the same zeal as Chee but with better sense ... CJS zeal is the best part about him...... but better common sense isn't. I won't donate money to someone who keep getting himself/herself/themselves in prison just to prove a point.
Work smart..... don't keep banging your head onto a wall, determine to see which give way 1st...... the wall or his/her/their head.
Better to donate money to help Chaim or Low to upgrade their areas lift without Govt funds. That would show PAP that their money is not always the answer to everything -

Here it comes again.
The critics think that they are doing a good job for their master for unscrupulously ridiculing the rivals.
The rivals take this opportunity to make hay of the situation. Money just keep pouring in, more so from the non-supporters.
What will the critics do then? Suggest ways to help manage the money? Fcking guys! -
No.... I think its better to start the fund rising themselves. It pays to remember the out of luck Tan Jee Suan who died after ‘falling off the platform’ at the Chinese Garden station.
Subsequent deaths at mrt stations do not receive much publicity.
Critics, do your master a favour. Hush up.

SDP is not Chee and Chee is not SDP. Chee is the one that is bankrupt, not SDP. Chee owes LHL, GCT and LKY money and not the govt.

I donate $30-50 every month to help the volunteers feed the stray animals. This is no big deal.
A couple of dollars a month is not much but If that amount coming from each supporter can give the country a better chance for a multi-party democracy, is it not money worth spending?
DonÂ’t you all relish a multi-party democracy? ItÂ’s a better system than raising salaries to check corruption. -
