Fans are out. There are no windows in the august chamber.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Yes, I know.
But the question is, why do one need to wear formally for just some discussion?
If there's no need to, fans could be used to cool a place, like your normal pasar malam. It conserves energy.

Even shopping centres have air con,why shouldn't parliament have air con?It is certainly more comfortable to have air con.But of course don't go to the extreme of wearing coat in an air con room.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Saw off the roof.
When the air con set at 24 degree,is it the air con start to run when the temp of the room raises to 25 degree?Originally posted by abao:The World has limited resources. We should all contribute to conserving the Earth, a part of which can be easily done by slightly changing current lifestyles.
In my opinion, we should:
1. Set Air Con temperatures to 24 degrees. Those centralised Air Con systems can switch to 25 degrees in the afternoon, coz those tend to cool the air much faster. Many Northern Countries have already begun to do so: eg Japan. Koizumi even wore half formal for parliament sittings.
2. For those who complain about the humidity, they can always use some dehumidifiers. Or when the air to water machine is cheap enough to buy they can buy that to reduce air humidity and have a drink.
Or rather, why should Parliament have air con? Most schools in SG are non air-con and students have to learn to bear with the heat. If students have to bear, the same goes for adults. No double standards.Originally posted by PRP:Even shopping centres have air con,why shouldn't parliament have air con?It is certainly more comfortable to have air con.But of course don't go to the extreme of wearing coat in an air con room.
my school has air con for the sec 4 classrooms. reality is, air conditioning is becoming a necessity in Singapore. It wouldn't be surprising if soon, someone brings up the issue of making schools airconditioned; giving reasons such as "more conducive environment, blablabla"Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Or rather, why should Parliament have air con? Want air con? Shop with the commoners or go home to enjoy.
I wonder whether air con should be set to at least 25 degree C.I find 28 degree (cloudy morning)in my home without air con is comfortable. As long as it is comfortable, need it be cold?Originally posted by abao:The World has limited resources.
