Partly is the cycler fault.
Somemore why is he cycling on the road?
Cyclist are supposed to cycle on the road, just that some took to the pedestrian pavement.
FYI , a kneeguard is useless infact , when you cycle with the flow of traffic . A knee guard is used to prevent hurting ur knee from direct frontal impact . Since vehicles come from the back , the guard is actually useless . Helmet is infact very important . One shld never cycle on the road without a helmet . Its just too risky.
Being a cyclist myself , i don't enjoy riding on SG roads . The drivers are always rushing and impatient . I feel unsafe when cycling with them .

My opinion is that its better to cycle on the pedestrian pathway , but you shld be more attentive and alert and responsible . When closing in to pedestrians , ring your bell to inform your presence . Never speed when theres alot of plp , speed only if the road ahead is clear and has no junctions . Junctions are where most accidents happen .
