I think's it's political strategy.
Chee's actions are based on clear calculated strategies.

Moderation is one thing.Originally posted by kramnave:We notice that of late, the "moderates" are gaining increased publicity from the media. From the built up to WP's 50th year anniversary celebrations, to the event itself and to todays report that PAP and opposition hold hands to upgrade Potong Pasir and Hougang facilities, enabling the constituencies to be more elderly friendly. Not only SDP wants us to make a stand, i suppose the government wants us to do that as well.
Do we want to support SDP's impatience, outright Anti-PAP sentiments and without thought of consequences.
or
follow the other 2 opposition parties and do it slowly but for the sake Singaporeans, not necessarily requiring the downfall of PAP in the near future or even at all ?
Yup and WP has so far made the greatest progress out of the other opposition parties and we still have to give them time if we harbour any hopes of a "smooth" transition between parties.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Moderation is one thing.
However, if the PAP becomes irrelevant one day and has to lose power, so be it. This is what the PAP may not understand at the moment.
Yelling in public won't get you votes, but trying to make everyone play your games in white is wrong too.
That's the mistake that the PAP and SDP have made thus far.
In any case, I've never seen Chee as a wannabe MP or a politician, as far as I'm concerned, he's an activist and a lobbyist.
Perhaps so.Originally posted by kramnave:Yup and WP has so far made the greatest progress out of the other opposition parties and we still have to give them time if we harbour any hopes of a "smooth" transition between parties.

Thereafter you start talking about political strategies. What i would like to know is what were u refering to ?I was refering to the general political activities of the SDP. Protests, public lectures etc.

..what can a canary do in a bird cage?
Ok. Other than SDP, PAP or any other political parties, it may jolly well be a citizen who feels that WP are alledgedly not doing what some quarters of opposition supporters want them to do as well.Originally posted by Poh Ah Pak:I was refering to the general political activities of the SDP. The one who is behind the recent attacks against the WP may be trying to sow discord between WP and SDP.
It it well known that SDP in recent days criticised WP's policies.
By stirring up trouble through anti-WP propaganda flyers and then trying to put the blame on SDP, this fellow behind the attacks may be seeking to drive a wedge between WP and SDP and to set the two against each other.
This is a theory.
This is the strategy of Sowing Discord:
Undermine your enemy's ability to fight by secretly causing discord between him and his friends, allies, advisors, family, commanders, soldiers, and population. While he is preoccupied settling internal disputes his ability to attack or defend, is compromised.

I think this person is too much of an extremist. Blinded loyalty or what, i don't know. But it scares me to read such an article.

Every party has a role but ever wondered why the only confrontational party in Singapore chose to lie about having the only opposition youth wing, the only party speaking up for James Gomez, the things WP chairman SL said at IBA?Originally posted by LazerLordz:Perhaps so.
However, the SDP has a role to play in the larger picture of Singaporean politics, even if many may find their methods hard to swallow.
It's the classic dictum, divide and conquer.
The only 2 parties who have something against WP are PAP and SDP. SDP because they don't believe in winning election so they have to make sure other opposition parties lose to prove their point.Originally posted by kramnave:Ok. No, PAP would not use such childish antics but it's lackeys could.Originally posted by Ravenclaw82:Really? All signs point to a particular party but you chose not to consider it at all.
Do you really believe PAP will use such childish tactics?
What is the intent? A party who scores poorly election after election, they cannot beat PAP. What other way? Push down the votes of other opposition?
Agree.... PAP could use the media to do it. No point at all to use a few 'teenager' sticking flyers around. And those post on SammyBoy are posted by know anti-PAP personal.Originally posted by Ravenclaw82:The only 2 parties who have something against WP are PAP and SDP. True, no one can confirm who was behind those fliers but one thing for sure, PAP has never employed that strategy before and this can't be better than fight WP through sheer numbers, PA, RC, CC, CCC. People will laugh at PAP if it is found out.
The quarters of opposition supporters unhappy with WP use SDP as a benchmark and are their supporters. Looking at the numbers Chee gets for his protests, their can't be too many suspects. Unless these SDP supporters no guts to protest against PAP with Chee but got guts to attack WP.
Now our local print media has published a report on thisOriginally posted by LazerLordz:Frankly, the world has more urgent issues than childish antics.
I disagree.....Originally posted by googoomuck:No, PAP would not use such childish antics but it's lackeys could.
