What must be made clear is that Chee's political actions are based on his view that the current Singapore elections system is a charade and no opposition party can ever hope to reach power through such a system.
Some criticise Chee, saying that he should play politics through the elections system.
But from Chee's point of view, the elections system is just a facade, a wayang for others to see.
The Truth About The Election System
In the absence of genuinely free and fair elections, the act of voting becomes a treacherous impostor of democracy. In Singapore, the Elections Department is under the purview of the Prime MinisterÂ’s Office.
Because it conducts its business largely away from public scrutiny, many are as convinced of its impartiality as they would be the act of a ventriloquist over the radio.
For instance, the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee redraws the boundaries and then submits its report to the cabinet for approval.
The opposition and the public are not consulted, and the report bypasses parliament. Changes are announced only shortly before the elections. As a result, constituencies that showed strong support for the opposition party have undergone major surgery. These areas have either been redistributed to other PAP strongholds or wholly absorbed into GRCs.
Violations of the Parliamentary Elections Act (PEA) by the PAP are never acted upon. In the 1997 elections, several PAP ministers entered polling stations, which they clearly had no authority to do.
Under the PEA, no unauthorised persons are allowed to loiter within 200 meters of any voting centre.
Yet election officials did not attempt to enforce the rule. Worse, the Attorney General declined to prosecute, saying that the ministers were inside the polling centre—as opposed to loitering on the outside—and, hence, not in breach of any regulation.
Complaints and reports about ballot papers being folded together (which should be impossible, because each voter is required to fold his or her voting paper and place it individually into the boxes), the number of ballot papers exceeding the number of registered voters, ballots being sealed in the boxes before polling commenced, ballot boxes not being sealed in the presence of opposition candidates and their agents, and ballot boxes taken to centres outside of the constituency for counting all went unheeded...

Yes you guys have your points, i do not want to disagree. However what i was trying to point out is that SDP launched an offensive against WP through their website and so did others.
There is no proof that they were behind the distribution of flyers. Anybody could have done it. SDP is equally capable of doing it and i backed up this statement with my arguments in the subsequent threads. I have provided reasons on why they might have done it and how they could have benefitted from it. However, without any proof, that may not be true as the possibities are endless. That is all i'm trying to say with regards to the topic of this thread. -
Poh Ah Pak. Going back to the topic i was explaining why that its possible for them to be behind the flyers. Further i explained why i think that their actions are without thought of consequences.

I was refering to the general political activities of the SDP. Protests, public lectures etc.
The one who is behind the recent attacks against the WP may be trying to sow discord between WP and SDP.
It it well known that SDP in recent days criticised WP's policies.
By stirring up trouble through anti-WP propaganda flyers and then trying to put the blame on SDP, this fellow behind the attacks may be seeking to drive a wedge between WP and SDP and to set the two against each other.
This is a theory.
This is the strategy of Sowing Discord:
Undermine your enemy's ability to fight by secretly causing discord between him and his friends, allies, advisors, family, commanders, soldiers, and population. While he is preoccupied settling internal disputes his ability to attack or defend, is compromised.

The only 2 parties who have something against WP are PAP and SDP. True, no one can confirm who was behind those fliers but one thing for sure, PAP has never employed that strategy before and this can't be better than fight WP through sheer numbers, PA, RC, CC, CCC. People will laugh at PAP if it is found out.

1) Most ppl in S'pore might vote PAP because of 'Unfound Fear' or just plain no care. Highly unlikely that there are 'PAP Volunteer' going around doing such thing.

I think that Low Thia Khiang should keep a distance away from PAP and avoid making statements that shows PAP in a positive light.
A lot of people support opposition parties in Singapore because they are against PAP.
If WP praises PAP, these supporters will not be happy.
I hope that Worker's Party can take note from this episode and don't keep too close with PAP. -
Now does Singaporeans view WP as the Worker's Party or just an opposition party ? Does Singaporeans want WP to one day take over from PAP or does Singaporeans want to see the downfall of PAP irregardless who takes over, be it SDP,SDA or even UMNO/Barisan Nasional ? Is it out of love of Singapore or out of hate of PAP ?

Not that I don't agree WP should not close to PAP. But continue to depend on the 33.3%... to win 2-3 seats? It's the 33.3% who has to be understanding.
If they are not helping WP win over the 66.6%, WP has to do it themselves.
