Strictly from my standpoint only, and i do not speak on behalf of the general gay population when i say this....I am gay and im most definately here to stay.
You can fight it all you want...and so could i...but i'm too busying living my own life to want to bother about what someone else thinks about it.
I answer to my creator at the end of it all....and i live my life in accordance to the most basic fundemental understanding of what goodness means.
And I know god loves me just as much as he loves my heterosexual brothers.
So I will not be judged by you, or anyone else.

Other "scientific" research supporting that sexual orientation can be changed is done by groups like the Family Research Council, which is a "Christian organization promoting the traditional family unit and the Judeo-Christian value system upon which it is built." A true paragon of unbiased research! And we're probably being generous in calling it research.
One problem is that these groups think that "success" or "curing homosexuality" means suppressing homosexual behavior. They think that even if a man is still attracted to other men, as long as he doesn't act on that attraction, he's cured.
But hey guess what, if a person is sexually attracted to someone of the same gender, that person is homosexual, whether the person acts on the desire or not.
Now, the following is the scientific consensus. It's not a consensus because of political correctness (as you imply), but it is the consensus of scientists that practice real science, as opposed to "scientists" who are looking for evidence to support what they think a magical being told them to believe.
"Sexual orientation emerges for most people in early adolescence without any prior sexual experience. Although we can choose whether to act on our feelings, psychologists do not consider sexual orientation to be a conscious choice that can be voluntarily changed."

Antisocial Personality Disorder
This disorder is characterized by the careless disregard for the rights of others. It can be recognized by several symptoms. Someone with an antisocial personality is usually decietful and is remorseless.
Let's see... it seems like many religious people seem to carelessly disregard the rights of others (not all of course). Christian "scientists" regularly fudge research or outright lie in order to support their religion and many christians feel it's okay to lie for god. And they are really happy when they do it.
Dependent Personality Disorder
This disorder is characterized by a need to be taken care of an a fear of being abandoned. Suffers of it are very clingy and usually have the following symptoms: helpless when alone because of exagerated sense of not being able to care for self, when one close relationship ends the person immediately tries to find another, problems initiating projects or ideas because of a lack of self esteem, difficulty dissagreeing with others, needs other to take responsibility for him/her, cannot make decisions with out advice from others.
This one doesn't need much explanation. Listen to your typical prayer. "Dear God, I'm worthless and useless without you. I'm pond scum. I'm the belly lint of a person who has not washed for a week. I am nothing... blah blah blah..."
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Individuals who are excessively grandios, have a need for admiration, and lack empathy are usually considered to be a narcissistic personality. They can only truly be shown to have the disorder if the person has five of the following symptoms: extreme arrogance and haugtiness, envious of others or believes that they are envious of him, doesn't recognize the feelings of others, exploits other persons for his/her own aims, requires admiration, has fantasies of success and power, has a sense of entitlement and believes that he/she is special.

I feel tat those who support the law for 377A r bigots because they r intolerant of other people lifestyle tat has little or no impact to his. I agree tat opposition exists for all changes. For the purpose of the forum, tis is a place where people debate on their point of view and opposition is encouraged. However enforcing a law making a group of people illegal is a total story altogether. U r literally banning them and the punishment is jail. U don't want them to live in the same space as u. If tis is not bigot, then wat is bigot ? Can u give me a better example of bigot ?
Lets give a hypothetical example, lets say there r people who support catholics to be illegal and catholics r exposed to the risk of jail in country A. Do u think the people supporting the enforcement of tis law r bigots or they r normal and catholic deserves to be banned ?Same tired arguments from the gay lobby again. Ppl who oppose to repealing 377a are not intolerant of geys' lifestyle.The law has been there for a long time and there was a purpose for enacting the law.Anal sex is an unnatural sex.The geys have higher percentage of ppl infected with AIDS.These 2 reasons show that anal sex is wrong & bad.
If the homo supporters can convince us that homo is right & good,then of course anal sex shouldn't be a crime.But geys say homo is no right or wrong.I say no such thing.If geys can't show homo is good & right. many ppl still think that it is wrong & inmoral. -
i'm only thinking about the kids, imagine they adopt a boy, then he grew up thinking he was gay and it was normal. but actually he's straight.
it might be just my ignorance la, but that's still my biggest concern.
i don't approve of the gay lifestyle, but i don't hate them. whatever they do behind closed doors is their own business and i'm fine with it. and as long as they don't hit on me la of course.
i've got gay friends, actually only 1, from my NS days.
i really don't see an issue. i mean, p0rn is also illegal wat, but many people still have access to it, and the govt don't actively detect the internet to see who's accessing what just to arrest and prosecute people. and p0rn users are fine with it, they're not staging protests to protect their right to accessing p0rn.
i feel that gays are just acting on principle, even though its illegal, they're not being prevented from getting it on with one another, so long nobody complains la (stompers), are their lifestyle really being restricted? are they being herded like cattles or have GPS trackers attached to them to monitor them make sure they don't have gay gatherings for more than 30 mins at a time so that nothing drastic happens? no what, they still do whatever they do behind closed doors (I know, because a gay once told me the going ons on his birthday party, it was very awkward the next 15 mins.)
they're protesting just because they want to force everyone to agree with them that being gay isn't wrong, (biologically or morally), and that's really asking for too much.
its really the same la, i think gays should just get on with their business and stop promoting what the majority feels its morally wrong.
what's next? people with bestiality issues wanting the rights to screw their pet dogs?
