Andrew there is no point telling us you are smart by reporting DowJones and yesterday news because my notebook and internet connection is already capable for feeding me more accurate and timely information.
If you want to show us how smart an investor you are, let me ask you.
a) Suppose if your running a investment company that manage $100m worth of fund. Am I right to say that since July 2007 (as you claim is the time have predicted the market will crash)you would have already exit the stock market?
b) Suppose if Yes. What will you be doing with the $100m worth of funds?
c) Suppose your answer is NO, will you be able to tell us which are the stock which you will continue to hold starting from today (reason I asking starting from today is because I know you will dig out the best performing stocks from the last 3 months and say thats your prediction)

Seriously. Before you start talking about giving advice as an authoritative source. Proof. Any degree would do. Hell, a diploma that states you understand what interest rates are would suffice. Anything that proves you understand what increasing interest rates would mean. -

The definition of both words are quite specific... In this case, "on" is more appropriate as a preposition to express the spatial relationship between the mouse cursor and the line.
It is not so appropriate to use "in" because your subject is a "line" on a 2 dimensional surface, which effectively excludes the possibility of the mouse cursor being in a position "within the space, place or limits".
We may, of course, use "in" in the figurative sense, like "get in the line", which is a figure of speech for "queue up", but it is simply not possible to literally "get in the line" unless you're talking about a really thick line drawn on the ground (in any case, it would still be more appropriate to say "get on the line" because the relative position of the person is above the line and not within it).
So in a nutshell, "in" is not appropriate because:
(a) Your subject is an axis on a 2-dimensional surface (the screen).
(b) The axis on the screen cannot be "penetrated" in the spatial sense as the word "in" would imply. Hence, the mouse cursor is "on the line" and not "in the line".
