Govt,why doesn't you check on your own services to the ppl?

  If the misnters don't check,by right the ppl can check themselves.The ppl representative i.e. MPs should check on the public services.

  Our govt ministers are very busy.They attend functions and make speeches.They have many dinners to attend too.They also have many annual leaves per year so they don't have much time to work.Maybe they are so busy that they have no time to inspect on their departments and talk to members of the public who use them.

  Can you imagine, an application for something in a ministry requires you to do a whole pile of paperwork, which include information from another ministry. The government agency has the information already, yet still want us to take the trouble to go and get the information to pass to them. Talking about efficiency
  
  In addition, the pushing around is damn jialat. Even with emails, they will forward non-stop till the last person fails to reply. The email forwarding will then end there, with no answers to the original request.

  Actually, they DO check.
  
  On financial matters, the auditor general makes regular checks on ministries and departments. Stat-boards, less so, but after they did it to EDB this year and found some irregularities, I think we can expect them to be more proactive about it in future.
  
  My friends in the public service told me once that some calls to the departments are actually fellow public officers in disguise and if u don't deal with them properly, the dept will kena thunderbolt
  
  The ministers and the cabinet is really not the same as the ministry and the departments. public officers need to work to make sure they get the full share of their 2.5 mths bonus. If they kena "bang" over such issues and get poor performance, they stand to lose a lot.
