Many people - the oppositions, the social critics, the intelligentia the ordinary people etc - have given their feedbacks yet our ministers still do not seem to be able or get anywhere near to solving our persistent problems facing the people.
Despite all their sacrifices they are the ones who are suffering from dropping wages, unemployments, losses of business opportunities and economic competitiveness, inefficiencies in government, lack of accountability in spending people's hard-earned monies on overseas projects without benefiting the people themselves.
A lot of constructive and good feedbacks have been given. Yet there is only one result - government continues to talk about their past glory with hypocrisy instead of acknowledging the problems and getting results.
Perhaps there is only one simple reason. We do not need to look elsewhere and write long thesis or analysis. It is all a power game.
Our leaders are all intelligent people. There is no reason that they do not know the difference between right and wrong.
However with or without their knowledge once the power gets into their blood or the system power becomes self-regulating and the ultimate overwhelming factor in any decision making.
For example when people complained about rising costs of living being caused by the government's uncaring taxing and profiteering mentality, don't tell me they do not know it is wrong to keep charging or taxing more when people are finding it difficult to survive.
But with power however creeping so deep under their skin they could easily brush aside this policy error by getting their press media to play down the poverty news and play up the good news and hopefully get away from problems without solving them.
Now they are so intoxicated with their own power they can deny all problems and all facts and let people to contend with them for as long as they can.
May be they will pretend to have some MPs to speak hypocrisy like Halimah to hold the ground and wait until the next election to come up with election goodies to buy votes again.
So one can almost predict with certainty that there will be nothing said which will be said without that ultimate play with power - not right or wrong or duty.

There's no such thing as solving problems. You get rid of one, you create another one.

That's because the PAP is too confident that it will be able to win the election, such that no longer care what the ppl think.
If PAP is to lose a few more seats in the next election, I am sure thing will turn out different.
