Iveco is right - Rudd believes in using 4 million talents instead of giving too much weightage to one super-talent like MM Lee or LHL. Singapore economy will go down very fast the moment the hype about IR and the world economic recovery loses steam. Why? Because for years as witnessed over the last three recessions there is too much emphasis on promoting only their own self-glorifying talents and not recognising their own people's talents in every field.Originally posted by Scania:Welcome to South East Asia, it seems that you do not know how to use this function: governance in SEA.
If you need help: Choose between democracy and economic growth. If you face further problems, please choose this option: emigrate.
We shall see whether Rudd would help state governments, city councils and shires in Australia which are currently facing problems, or would it be NATO.Originally posted by robertteh:Iveco is right - Rudd believes in using 4 million talents instead of giving too much weightage to one super-talent like MM Lee or LHL. So no matter how hard their ministers have tried the economic restructuring did not happen. They alone the few self-possessed super-talents can never hope to equal 4 million half-past-six smaller talents put to good application.
The Taiwanese are trying so hard to maintain their sovereignty and you making such a bad remark here.Originally posted by iveco:Yeah, get rid of the unholy trinity and merge with Canberra.

My implication is that China has no more claim over Taiwan since losing the island after the first Sino-japanese war in 1895.Originally posted by Scania:Mr Seetoh, people there talking about how Taiwanese are trying to keep their sovereignty, you down here talking history of China. There you go again......smoking. The thing is that most of the world recongises the Chinese government which adminsters 90% of the total population and area of China. How can certain pro-independence Taiwanese not feel threatened and would not fight for their sovereignty.Originally posted by iveco:My implication is that China has no more claim over Taiwan since losing the island after the first Sino-japanese war in 1895.
I know you are down-under, but certainly not 6 feet down under. In case you don't know what is going on, let me remind you that Mainland China views Taiwan as a separatist/breakaway province awaiting unification. Due to a one-China policy advocated by Mainland China, Taiwan is not part of the UN or the WHO, and isn't recognised by many countries as a country, except for 20 odd number of countries.Originally posted by iveco:My implication is that China has no more claim over Taiwan since losing the island after the first Sino-japanese war in 1895.
My dream is to see China broken up like the former USSR. The member states of the old USSR are much better off these days. Some of them are even in the EU.Originally posted by Zilchster:I know you are down-under, but certainly not 6 feet down under. However, the DPP of Taiwan or the Pan Green Coalition are striving to push for formal independence for Taiwan.
At best your sentence expresses what you think. And if you let any Mainland Chinese see what you had written, good luck to you.
China was divided into many small states at one time or another. These states fought many wars among themselves and people suffered.Originally posted by iveco:My dream is to see China broken up like the former USSR. At the end of the day, liberal democracy will overcome all the odds and emerge victorious like how Rudd trumped Howard last night for the stewardship of Australia.
Always remember the Fourth of June.Originally posted by robertteh:China was divided into many small states at one time or another. These states fought many wars among themselves and people suffered.
Many foreign countries tried to invade China. Through nationalism or patriotism somehow China held its own till today and Chinese were less bullied due partly to this fact. So do we need a strong and peaceful China or one which is divided making easy meats for the imperialist west and overly ambitious Japan.
Democracy and democratic instutionalized processes will be the solutions. Processes well established and institutionalised will ensure accountability fairness and flexibility and will help to stabilize China one day or else there will be more 4ths of June and it will one day be broken up like the former Russia.Originally posted by iveco:Always remember the Fourth of June.![]()

The Chechens should just have been expelled from the Federation just like how Tunku Abdul Rahman did to us. Don't know why Moscow still wants to act like Tsarists.Originally posted by Scania:Ah, what about Chechnya, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and the territorial conflicts of Kazakhstan and Uzebekistan, you just looked at the "good" side and not the "bad".
Why do you love smoking?
