  Rightly so. Given that it is funded by the People's donations.
  
  GIC, I am not so sure, what is it all about. Its wonderfully developed website states as overview "GIC is a global investment management company established in 1981 to manage Singapore's foreign reserves..."

  The foreign reserves in my wallet came from buying foreign currency from the money changer with Singapore dollar.
