Got one time during the height of our water issue with Malaysia, front page print big big that our Navy had some exercise near some island (think Pedra Branca but i may be wrong). Next page print small small that communication lines in part of Johor were down

At the end of the day, TS and the opposition parties had better face it that they CMI one la. While on the outside, they try to portray themselves as intellectuals, examine them more thoroughly and they have no substance and are just empty vessels making the most noise!
Or have you proven your point? Blame forumers here who did not agree with you for being useless whiners like Wee Shu Min. When you are well provided for and your stomach is fed and not hungry like that Mr. Tan who jumped off the MRT track count your blessing and do not start challenging those who speak up. Remember no one likes to be hungry and without food as happened in that case. His last conversation with his son was to ask his son to go and buy some dinner with his remaining $9 in his pocket.
Do you call Mr. Tan or the poor who were so squeezed that they are the whiners if they ever spoke up. Many radio listeners who responded to questionnaires over the air on the issue of retirements have expressed the fact that the government is over-taxing and exploiting the people. Do you call them whiners for such talking of facts.
If you are not as fortunate as Wee Shu Min how would you have felt to be the son of that Mr. Tan or the many radio listeners who expressed indignance over such open and systematic exploitation of people going on for years that cause their plight and suffering.
Facts are facts. By refusing to accept facts and starting to question facts and our intellects without questioning your own intellect you will be just another Wee Shu Min. Let see how you yourself will be able to stand up and face the people in a public forum for behaving in such a heartless manner.
That is our current problem - people who are well and fortunate are becoming heartless and cold and looking askance at all their fellow citizens and calling them names.
How to convince the rest of Singaporeans to stop questioning the current self-serving self-glorifying government for their wrongful policies which have caused so many problems to the people. -
I have never claimed that the Singapore press is free. It is TS who puts this in my mouth! But it is you who seemed to suggest that the press is not free. Therefore, it is only imperative that TS backs up his assertion with proof : He who asserts must prove it! Not the other way around! TS had better get his basic facts right!
And TS' pattern and the opposition's are very similar: assert something but never support it with solid factual evidence. So when challenged, they cannot adduce evidence. Kena sued is therefore deserved! If you have solid facts, you should have nothing to fear......
So when you are not sure of the facts and you still wanna go shooting off your mouths at other people, you cannot blame others for nuking you when they counter attack and you have no defences whatsoever

Believe what you will. The fact remains that there are several former ISD personnel in the higher ups of SPH means something to me. And they use vague terms like nation building to defend their editorial decisions. -

I HAVE NEVER CLAIMED THAT THE SINGAPORE PRESS IS FREE! And since I have never made this claim, what do I have to prove? Rather, it is you who have suggested that the press is NOT free. It is therefore your onus to show evidence that this is so. Othewise, your allegation is baseless -

I haven't said anything about the press. It was TS who had first suggested that the press wasn't free. Under the law of evidence in a civil court of law, a party who claims something must back that claim with proof. Thus, if TS claims that the press is not free, he has to back up his claim. Otherwise, his claim will fail for want of proof.
This is exactly what happens to the opposition parties. They make all kinds of assertions without being able to adduce proof to back up those assertions. That's why thy all lost in court......... -

We do not know who is "precious" who is such a provocative person. Free the press? I think this gonna be over MM's dead body. He will never risk freeing the press. As kiasi, kiasu, autocratic like him will not let go of the press. He sees the potential that the press can "kill" him and his party if the press is not under his control.
