This is by far the most ignorance and sterotyping remarks i see in this site. I seriously hope you withdrew this remarks. What you said is "WRONG" Its most embarrassing to see such remarks on a public SG forum. It reflect immaturity of a society.Originally posted by ceecookie:Trillions worth of air fresheners can anot?![]()

Does it matter? Who ever come into office in Malaysia and wanted to stay in power, they will have to keep the bumiputra stuff in order to gain support. Will there be any changes as to who be in power? Who was the majority group in Malaysia?Originally posted by Quincey:I correct myself. Our dear Dr M was one, but wasn't it the whole bumiputra thing tat eroded the support for him from his base which eventually led to his eventual demise from politics?
How about trillions worth of perfume?Originally posted by Arapahoe:This is by far the most ignorance and sterotyping remarks i see in this site. I seriously hope you withdrew this remarks. Let me put it this way, India is a rising economic power.
Its military power extend all the way to Andaman sea.
Ethnic indians have extensive social network, its people would not disconnect with its roots unlike PRC china who come to Asia just to transit to US. It procedure computer engineers, lawyers, all other professions. Its language English skill exceed that of China.
India is self reliance on all farms product unlike china depended import of Soy beans and grains to fuel its economy other than net importer of oil.
its woman have won time Miss World and Miss Universe.
In terms of wealth they are better than SG. So i hope you review your remarks again.
You got to read my previous post to do me justice.Originally posted by Mitell:Does it matter? But that is out of the point, what I meant was making use of those poor ignorance Indian going to the street and got beaten up by the police is not right. This group of people were already so poor thing, why still want to make use of them for political gain. DonÂ’t you think that is too much?
I certainly believe the ethnic Indians do not intend or hope to see any of the trillions of ringgit in compensation. Bringing up the matter to the British High Commission in KL was a way of having the matter in a higher profile. The Indian leadership in the MIC is known to be engrossed in its own prosperity and longevity. What happened to Samy Vellu? Such a good BullS******, who chooses to disappear at the right moment. It is said, he takes orders from the Malay masters, instead of fighting for the welfare of his race. Right or wrong?Originally posted by Spartans:Indeed the Malaysian Indians dragged the British in order to gain more international attention.
Obviously they cannot believe that Britain will help, right? Britishhave their own British Indians problems to settle too as racial divide does exist in Britain too (White vs Black vs South Asians(Indians, Pakistani) vs East Asian).
Back to the topic, I always believe the Bumpi policy is flawed. Use the national resource to help the Malays only, how about the other Malaysian ethnic groups? Aren't they Malaysians citizens?
However, due to this discriminative Bumpi policy, many talented Malaysians Chinese and Indians have moved overseas to nations like Singapore. Hence we can say we actually benefit from it.
Anyway the Malaysia Malay-led government is inept.
For yourself because u smell like Pig.Originally posted by chillz88:How about trillions worth of perfume?![]()
I believe the point isn't about being weathy or poor, the point is everyone has that opportunity to make it on their own. And it is not predisposition of racial profile.Originally posted by borgkilla:well I think that the Msian Indian's have it better in Malaysia than in their own native India..
you want to talk about inequality if wealth distribution, you just have to look at India .... on one side you have the "super" rich who # a few percent of the population ... a large middle class .. but an even larger portion of the population living in poverty.
In India they still abide by the caste system ( even though they deny it ), I can say that the majority tamil labourers brought into Malaya by the Bristish were in the lower caste.( I once witnessed a fair skinned Indian passenger on a flight refused to be served by a dark skinned stewardess )
In now Malaysia, I think the Indian population have a better chance in moving forward economically than in India , yes Malaysia has it's discriminatory policies, but surely everyone must notice that the majority that practice Law or medicine are infact Indians.
Through hard work and education they have made a name for themselves, what is lacking is that many of the plantation workers( who happen to be Indians) are not sending their children to school, from there the problem begins. Lack of education.. . means lack of job oppertunities and economic prosperity.
to the 1 trillion demand from the UK ....
simply impossible...
if the British were to agree .. then they would have to settle with all the slaves that they took from Africa as well...
so very unlikely
just my 2 cents
correct, they purposely dragged the brits in to get international attention. in fact i think it is the organisers' master stroke.Originally posted by googoomuck:The Indians in KL had planned the protest to coincide with the 2007 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kampala, Uganda, 23-25 nov.
They deliberately dragged UK in so that plight may be known worldwide.
Otherwise it would just be a local issue which would probably go unreported.
