Dear Mr Alex Au,
I applaud and support your call for a BloggersÂ’ meeting to get together and organize a submission to a government-linked body on a review of regulatory framework over the internet: http://www.yawningbread.org/pages_temp/bloggersmeetingdex.htm
Yawning Bread has been a model for other blogs for its reliable, independent and asute commentaries on local social and political affairs over the year. You have been most unflinching and satirical at times in your criticism of the establishment which is hardly seen in the mainstream medium.
Cyberspace is often seen as the last frontier for free speech in Singapore with very little government influence or control. This is so because blogs are often run by citizens with no political affliations like yourself or by anonymous individuals who are protected by the cloak of anonymity. However, when political blogs are run by individuals with links to the establishment, then we should take what it publishes with a pinch of salt as the contents may invariably by tainted by self-censorship and propagandary.
I would like to call to your attention a particular political and social blog - The Online Citizen (TOC) whose credibility as a non-government free-wheeling blog is in serious doubt because of its intimate links with the establishment.

[POSTED BY THINKPEOPLE AND DELETED (PROBABLY BY THINKPEOPLE HIMSELF) AFTER BEGGAR POSTED BEGGAR'S VIEWS.
BEGGAR REPOST IT HERE ]
BEGGAR'S QUESTION TO THINKPEOPLE.
1. WHY YOU DELETED THE THREAD YOU STARTED ?
2. WHY U NOT REPLY BEGGAR'S QUESTIONS AND INSTEAD U CHOSE TO DELETE THE THREAD?
beggarchief, I don't think that thinkpeople has the power to delete threads.
He is not a moderator.
Notice that the thread "Video Clip of SgHR Forum on 18 Nov" started by thinkpeople has been locked.
This locking action together with the deleting of the Alex Au thread is evidence that there is a campaign to liquidate off thinkpeople's threads by the moderators.
Thinkpeople, if you want to open propaganda threads, why not consolidate all thread topics into a single thread rather than a flooding action?
I think that the moderators will not move against you and liquidate off your threads if you do this.
Hi Beggar Chief,
I did not delete any thread at all.
Maybe there are some WP members amongst the moderators.
Anyway, thanks for reposting the thread again.
