Shold low-income families join the army?

  I mean, When I was a kid. My neighbour has like 4 children. They are a malay family and the father is the sole bread winner as the wife is a home maker.
  
  They live in a 4 room flat but it looks much bigger than our unit. The father I think is a SGT in the SAF.
  
  They live quite comfortably, When we bought a piano, they bought one as well. Their home entertainment system also quite zai.
  
  They could even afford piano lessons for 2 of their daughters. Now they even have a fifth child and they are even richer than ever. though 2 of their children have graduated and are in the working society. Last I heard, They own part of a rice plantation in malaysia

  Might be their part in the rice plantation that allows them afford some of the things mentioned above.

  Yea..don't underestimate malay families...they're on the up and up..not all of them are mats with 10 kids living in a one room flat

  I'd say they were living..barely...cute kids but their clothes never looked clean
