How can ANYONE possess proof, when NO CHECKS are allowed???Originally posted by eagle:Which means it is just fantasy on your side?
To make such a strong and slanderous claim, you need to have proof.
Look at my post carefully. I am answer to 3 questions in your previous post which I quoted. And these 3 qns/points are not very linked so dun mix up my replies to ur 3 different questions.Originally posted by deathbait:Huh. We were talking about rich being richer and poor getting poorer. What does that have to do with your foreigners with families back home?
And be careful how far you take this idea of yours. Hitler took it to the extreme and jump-started world war 2.
See what i mean about logic being a pre-requisite?Originally posted by HyperFocal:How can ANYONE possess proof, when NO CHECKS are allowed???

I don't know.
Preferably someone who has an open mind. I know, that discounts you. But what's a guy to do?
Actually I think it is not the no or low skill foreigners that take away jobs that Singaporeans want, but rather, those that have middle middle skills. This is the category where most Singaporeans are.Originally posted by Spartans:My first statement is a fallacy? get your fact right!
Foreigners especially those from developing nations can accept lower wages because their families are still in their native homelands where living standards are not as high as in Singapore.
Lastly, what is the job of Government? Blindly pursueing economical growth at the expense of lesser Singaporeans? Seriously why would the Government allow such huge number of ORDINARY foreigners, some even no or low skill into Singapore in the first place? If they are taking jobs which no Singaporean want, fair enough. But the situation now is they are taking over the jobs of ordinary Singaporeans. The problem is more severe if we are analysing the job situation of the low income group. Tell me then why does the government those foreigners into Singapore in the first place.
No, prohibition of public inquiry would yield no evidence is more likely.....Originally posted by deathbait:See what i mean about logic being a pre-requisite?
You're now saying absence of evidence is evidence of fault.
HUH?

That's like the worst counter ever.
It's like them cheating, so it's ok for you to cheat too.

Or is there any example of any no or low skilled jobs that Singaporeans want but find it hard to fight with foreigners? To me, jobs like these include construction workers, roadside cleaners, rubbish collection, aka the unsung heroes of Singapore. However, jobs like flyers distribution, traffic survey (counting cars, I've done it before), fast food restaurants, seldom have foreign workers
You know,...Originally posted by deathbait:Tell you what.

And these pay cuts you speak of. Are they cut to the point where basic survival is impossible?Originally posted by Spartans:Let me quote an industry.
Most of the low income workers work in the manufacturing factories such as electonic factories. Here the skills required are not high. The influx of new foreigners are forcing these low skilled Singaporeans out of job/pay cut.
These workers, many are in middle-age, found it extremely hard to find another job due to their age and education level. Other similiar jobs at other factories are being filled up by foreigners instead of employing them.
Then in SC, we got people like Gazelle who have no empathy for them.

In other words, you don't really have an idea of what evidence to ask for, but decided it was guilty anyway, simply because the government didn't voluntarily list down every single thing it did?Originally posted by HyperFocal:You know,...

I think his main focus is not on the pay cut, but rather the out-of-job part, and yet unable to find a job. Middle-age with low educational background => damn hard to upgrade or find jobs already.Originally posted by deathbait:And these pay cuts you speak of. If the global economy supports X wages for a certain job, and you were being paid X+Y for doing it before the country embraced the global market, you are not getting a pay cut. Your pay is regressing to mean. Meaning you were OVERPAID before.
there's an increase in GST because TIMES HAS CHANGED. If you want to compare to other developed countries, our items are still quite cheap.Originally posted by robertteh:As PM you increased GST from 5% to 7% and all the shopkeepers and retailers started pushing up their prices of necessities across of board by 20% resulting in the poor being unable to pay for utilities and food.
Are you a successful PM ?
