How should the government minister apologise for mistake?

After the Hougang Fire killing two siblings there was no apology.
After the SAF's mistake in spraying red dye on farms destroying 200 tons of greens there was no apology.
The government is no longer accountable to the people as it seems that it can do as it likes and if they make any mistakes they could just say they will use people's monies to compensate not from their own bonuses or salary increments.
They should change their mindset and serve the people and make an sincere apology :-
"Sorry, our army boys for which the minister of defence is answerable have made a big mistake so we will not pay them the big bonuses and big increment this or next year and we will make sure such army boys do not get invited to tea and later to run for election claiming to be talents or become minister or head the GLCs in the future because they may mess up more people's lives" -
Say " sorry, we fcked up".

i dunno what happened in the hougang fire..
but from my experience, its not easy la. fire can easily go out of control, and it's really awful that people died in there. no one wanted it to happen. and everyone who was involved would be upset, and the memory is probably still haunting them.
i'm sure they're very sorry for not being able to save the kids in time amidst the chaos. -

I once attended a structural inspection seminar convened by BCA and asked the panel chairperson this question: "After the Hotel New World collapse there was a commission of inquiry which directed BCD to revamp the whole structural checking and computation process with laws and regulations amended requiring this to be done. How is it that this structural check and computation to be approved prior to construction of circle line MRT at Nicol Highway was not being followed by LTA and the minister in charge and instead were pushed to the contractors and engineers on site and they were penalized instead of BCD."
No one could answer this question why even laws passed after an major structural collapse were not even seriously implemented by government departments or ministers.
How to govern the country when our ministers and government departments are so easily being excused and too thin-skinned to tender apologies for poor performance.
It is time to introduce public apologies from departments or ministers to hold them liable for major mistakes in acts or policies to raise level of accountability and not to increase their use of power for their own protectionism. -

"We will look into the causes of what has happened before making a judgement"
"We will propose some solutions so that such things will not happen again"

But I will stick to my original argument as usual. Why should the king apologise to his stupid and retarded peasants when he can jolly well get away with any and everything. -
