In the 1990s, our population is approximately 2.5millions where most are local born and breed Singaporeans.
In 2007, the population stands at 4.5 millions.
We all know that Singapore has a very low birth rate. So where does the 2 million new citizens come from? If the government increase the population to more than 5 millions, we will have a larger number of NEW citizens compared to the local born Singaporeans. -

def.more and more china citizens will be coming to singapore. whether we would like to be colonised or not depends strictly on us. the govt we vote for give them the mandate to open the floodgate for the influx of foreigners.

in history only the western imperialists colonized other countries. Zheng Ho visited many countries with his armada, never colonise anybody. Looking east after the middle east, India, Burma, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines...all colonies of the west. why do you think China is different now?
Does China want to colonize singapore? Western imperialists colonized to control, for the resources. What resources are there in Singapore worthy of being a colony for any country now, especially now with the port at pelapas and port klang?
It is the ignorant angmoh in the west, who think that Singapore as part of China. You can't put on a stupid angmoh brain and think because singapore is part of China, China would want to have Singapore.

, ask any chinese from PRC if they bow to anybody, may be only to Lee Ka Shing, but then again, are they any different from any other capitalists? You can burn the picture of mao as much as you can afford to buy the picture, just don't polute the air. 
You don't want communism? so how is the current one party rule social capitalism in Singapore different from the market driven communism in China?
Why is there a fear for colonization, even at this age in time? may be you haven't gotton rid of your colonial mentality.
It was said that the american conquered the world with hollywood and mcdonald, the japanese shouted tora tora tora again with toyota honda cars, mitsubishi fridge, sony walkman ....and even the korean won the hearts and minds of many asia with winter sonata and da chang jin. The influence of china will come....
The question is, how do we decide what to accept what to reject? One thing is for sure, if you have nothing except the colonial mentality, you are likely to accept. -

Why would China even be interested in the little red dot thats smaller than every major city in China. Singapore is a dumping ground for PRCs who cant make it back home. They are only too happy to let our tax dollars help them support these PRCs here.

put yourself into the shoes of a PRC citizen..
1st choice - work in rich 1st world countries like USA,britain etc..
2nd choice - work in the top tiered cities in China, like Shanghai, hongkong, nanking etc
3rd choice - work in some psuedo overseas chinese-like developing country like Singapore.
So actually we are just getting Shiitty PRC people with no place to stand in the world and mainland china.
Singapore should really get quality people...not quantity.. but then again, if too many quality people comes to Singapore, they are gonna compete in terms of job and lower wages..
i guess theres a double edged sword in everything.

Well...70% of Sillyporeans are Chinese right? Isn't it a fact that these 70% are descendants of Chinese immigrants in the late 19th century. It is good that the local gahmen is letting in more PRC Chinese and smart IT Indians from India....they will be the future of Sillypore...of course most will make their money and go back to their homelands but some will stay and procreate to hit the 6.5mil mark set by the local gahmen....and therefore the local Sillyporeans have no right to complain -

without chinese and indians coming in, in another 10yrs, i think there will be a tip in ethic numbers leh. looking around, chinese, indians are not producing as much leh. so I think the govt has to encourage some more to emigrate to sg to balance the numbers.
however, I do believe that not all coming in are with quality.
