If you take part in politics and win election to govern Singapore, I will immediately emigrate to Australia or New Zealand. If I can't get into these 2 countries, I am willing to go China or Indonesia. -

In Australia, you can be a garbage collector and live in a terrace house and drive a big car... here in Singapore, even if you are a professional, you are indebted... and that is government policy....

And a house in the outer suburb on a 240 sqm plot costs AUD $ 250k to 350K. Now if you divide cost over 10 generations considering the interest rate - 350K becomes about 550k over a 10 year period and assuming you can pay it off - the value is 55k per generation always appreciate in value. If you buy a HDB for 350k and then with interest - maybe 420 k or so - divide it into 2 generations - 110k per generation.
See the big difference?

Forget to say tho - ACT is the only State with the 99 year old land lease. Not the other states - so if you want to have house and land for the next 10 generations - buy in the other 6 states and 1 territory . Difference of ACT though - the land lease renews at a 99 year duration again through the new owner if I am not wrong. HDB no renewal.
