you guys want to argue, do it right..
you want to hit the MIW, get the figures...
else anyone can talk about these things and they'll have no impact..
heck! already facts have little impact on the MIW, what do you think mere 'observation' and conjecture and 'looks like...' have?
go get the proper figures.. if you cannot find out, go to the MOM and ask..
else, like the other topic which suggested taking the ministers' pay to give to the low-wage earners is just a lot of hot air.. sounds good.. sounds right.. but it's just a bunch of mice agreeing that to tie a bell around the cat is the way to go..
Of course it is not your right to question. After all, you have no rights in a fascist regime...Originally posted by marcolow:If the relevant statistics are not publicly available, it could mean that the government is not ready to release them. Ngiam Tong Dow is right, government statistics lie. It is far better to go to ask the people how is their lives now as compared with the earlier years of the 1970s. All the statistics and numbers are just window dressing and no more.Originally posted by the Bear:numbers numbers..

I think there are at least several 100's of 1000's of PRs ? not even considering Foreign workers who are non PR?Originally posted by mistyblue:just walking around on the grounds around raffles MRT, the number of foreigners out number the number of locals.

can someone confirm this assumption is correct?
I would like to assume that you are saying that you agree with me that some important facts are poorly missing and that this piece of info is of interest to singaporeans, i.e citizens, but due to some unexplanable reasons, no democratic singaporean have made strong enough effort to request for the information (RFI). And the most ashtonishing thing to me about democracy de singapura is that the so-called Opposition continuously failed to achieve digging out this piece of info for the people who supported them.Originally posted by 4getmenot:how can there be answers when answers are not provided..?![]()

This is the reason subsidy for PR in medical is going to be lessened next year.Originally posted by reddressman:That makes a world of difference!![]()

I have this thinking.....comment if you like....
PR has a criteria : need a job.
But I am not sure after 1 job or contract, after how long from thereon will a jobless PR 's PR status be revoked? And are there examples of PR license being revoked due to long time out of job?
Assuming all PRs are PRs because their employers applied for them the PR , and given them jobs, which means jobs created in sg is taken up by them, one reason being employers enjoy paying less for self profitability, then
I think the number of jobs taken by PRs can be deduced by the number of PRs existing in sg.
Then, out of the jobs created, this number is taken by them. We can even factor in a 5% jobless PR rate to get a more accurate estimation.
However, please be aware that jobs are not just occupied by PRs.
Jobs created are simply jobs created. They can be occupied by any soul.
Meaning, jobs created can also be taken up by foreigners who are non PRs.
And I would suspect this is even larger figure.
And to clarify, I assume jobs created include dish washer , toilet cleaners and pang gopis and pest busting experts.
Thus, this is also one of the reasons why I am surprised that the so-called highly educated sigaporeans nebber question the reported figures and let this trend exist since the beginning of sg time.
And the Opposition....oh my gawd...the Opposition...I doont even wanna mention this word anymore....
REAL or not?
