How sure are you that students nowadays do not face challenges from foreign students? Do you know how many top 5 JCs spots or how many Dean's List placement are snatched by foreign students each year? Do you seriously think that challenges by foreigners are only in the working world and not in school? If you think so, then you are outdated.
In addition, do you seriously think students do not complain about foreign students snatching the As, given that it is marked by a bell curve? The problem with people like you is that you think problems faced by you in the working world against foreigners are not faced by students in school.

Friend, this fellow is still in the stage of growing up. Many times many of those in the stage of growing up love to prove they are right (without having thoughts about reality and facts of life)and so forth by not knowing that it takes lots of "she hui jing yan" for one to know the truth. It is common that personal observations and official figures do not tally.
Ok back to the main topic, of the 172,400 jobs created, I believe an significant number of them went to foreigners/ foreign students who graduated in local uni/ foreigners turned PR or citizens.
It is just my personal observation from everyday's life and the media.

Before I met so many foreigners in the companies I have friends and neighbours telling me of the increasing numbers of foreigners working in Singapore. To my disappointment, there have been far too many of them that I think some of the positions can be filled up by our fellow citizens. As a Singaporean, I feel for people who have all it takes to do a good job but not given a chance. VEry sad.
Ultimately it is the govt who has the power to do something but from what we see chances seem very slim they will want to care at all. -

And I gave an explanation as to why it did not tally. I had totally no idea why he would suddenly claimed I attack him or disagreed with him, something which I did not do, and he could not prove.
In addition his argument based on experience and observation constitutes less than <0.1% of the total labour force. Anyone with a right mind would know that such a sample size is simply too small for any generalisation. Unless he was talking about a particular industry, which he clearly has not stated.
