Just a questionOriginally posted by happieman:Just as an example.. the taxi hike .. I personally feel the Govenrment is not doing their job in controlling it. Slight and reasonable increase is okie .. but not from SGD2 peak hours to 35% of the total fare for peak hour.. this is ridiculous.
For this case, what other ways we get send our message across to the Govenrment ? Can anyone share ? Any direct email account ?? please don provide hotline or like this .. i don think that will be taken seriously or effectively ...

sorry i have to disagree with you..Originally posted by deathbait:i think most of you are under the delusion that the government is supposed to intervene in this situation.
this is a decision made by a company. It does it for profit, pure and simple. There is nothing wrong wtih raising prices if it does not violate their agreement with any shareholders.
What, you're gonna insist the government intervene when another company raises prices on say...computer parts?
Let's not begrudge our taxi drivers from wanting a pay rise...after all they learnt from the best example - given our minister's double pay rise over the past year.Originally posted by happieman:Just as an example.. the taxi hike .. ... after so many decades, you think they are going to start listening to poeople at ground zero???
farking fat hope...
The only time they pretend to "listen", is when their 5 years term is up, & they are waving their basket of goodies in your faces!
I'm too old for this crap... I'm leaving and I say... leave it to the New Citizens & the more Globally Mobile younger generations to deal them out in the next 2 or 3 decades - I doubt they will ever last another few decades...
Put it this way : Chee is ahead of his time for a regime churning out a citizenry whose political awareness is as dire as humanly imaginable...Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:...or support Dr Chee Soon Juan much more.... he has a doctorate not for nothing... if there are better ways, he would have thought of it....

Andy, the big question is; WHO & HOW MANY, are willing (or dares) to leave their comfort zone & risk everything they have by teaming up with CSJ & going against the grain of our infamous FAP???Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:.. if more people support Dr Chee Soon Juan, then the despots have to change their ways and stop taking as much money from Singaporeans as possible, put it into their own pockets and destroy Singapore by putting so many people into debt...
Hi BillyBong ....Originally posted by BillyBong:Let's not begrudge our taxi drivers from wanting a pay rise...after all they learnt from the best example - given our minister's double pay rise over the past year.
With inflation rising, people are desparate to up their own wages and it's clear that will only fuel rising costs in all areas. Price of noodles and condensed milk have gone up. Fuel prices are soaring. Public transport has gotten relatively expensive, and our HDB prices have skyrocketed.
All this will feed the inflation frenzy to new heights (suddenly i have a strange recollection of PM Lee's famous phrase - no one will be left behind).
The govt isn't listening...wait for elections....then see if things have changed....the people's mentality i mean....not the govt.
Then back to square 1, Cab drivers cannot earn enoughOriginally posted by charlize:Yeah, I expect the cab companies to start raising rentals soon.
Woohoo!
More bonuses for the CEOs.
I am just saying that if Singaporeans want real change, they have to support Dr Chee Soon Juan... if they give in to their fears, if they allow despots to behave dishonorably and get away with it, if they do not fight for their own hard earned money ... at least support Dr Chee Soon Juan to fight for them... the least that they can do for themselves and their children...Originally posted by HyperFocal:Andy, the big question is; WHO & HOW MANY, are willing (or dares) to leave their comfort zone & risk everything they have by teaming up with CSJ & going against the grain of our infamous FAP???
You already know the Climate of Fear that Singaporeans are living under all these dog gone decades....!
It is not about cycle la ..Originally posted by eagle:Then back to square 1, Cab drivers cannot earn enough
Then again => raise taxi fares so that they earn
Cycle repeats
